As we all know too well, though, the journey can be long and frustrating which is why this forum exists. Come here to share the experience with other women who can actually empathize with all the ups and downs.

Winter IVF Members* dust.gif

After long and painful journeys, all of our members are at various stages of IVF and IF. Some people are in waiting, some are in the middle of a cycle, some have finally gotten their BFP and are just waiting around here until they feel comfortable enough to move to the grads thread, some are trying to figure out their next steps, and some of us are trying to figure out how to move past IF when treatments have failed. Some people come and stay for a few weeks, and others have been here for years. All are welcome here.

* Free baby refers to somebody who conceived naturally after moving toward IVF, or doing IVF (sometimes many times). Most "free babies" are not exactly "free" - they came after years of infertility struggles and treatments, and nine months of pregnancy while worrying about losses.

Sourire can you update my blurb, I just realized I havent fixed it in a while.
toothfairy2be- TTC for 2.5 years, 12 failed medicated cycles, 4 IUIs. Diagnosis: Endometriosis, Anti-thyroid antibodies, AMH 1.2. First IVF- 12 eggs retrieved, 6 mature, 5 fertilized. Waiting for transfer 1/4 or 1/6.

Thanks for the new Winter thread! I can believe how small our group is (not a bad thing!!)

So I have 5 embryos, they will call me tomorrow with their grades and a transfer time. Turns our from my 12 eggs only 7 were mature & one was shrinking so they didnt use it. So of the 6, five of them split! We are happy & excited for transfer. Of course I just want them back ASAP. I would rather have a 5 day transfer if that means healthier embryos & some to freeze but 4 more days just seems so long to wait to get them back...

Good luck with the transfer, Cait! I've been thinking of you!!

Good luck with the transfer Toothfairy!

toothfairy - how are your embies doing today? I also was surprised to see how small our group had gotten... it's great that most people have been able to move to grads. Hopefully we can empty out the roster completely in the next few months!

Stalking you ladies and saying GOOD LUCK for the upcoming events in each of your lives :)

So we are sceduled for a 5 day blastocyst transfer on Sunday. As far as I know we still have 4 growing embryos but the haven't given me any info. I just keep praying for them. We can only transfer 1 blastocyst because of my age so I'm so hopeful for a successful transfer and something to freeze.

Toothfairy2be- I was worried about doing an SET and having it be successful. It was: I'm now 6 weeks and 1 day preggo. We also had 2 to freeze. Good luck with you transfer! Are you going to do acupuncture before and after? Also, will you be on bedrest? Make sure you watch funny movies and t.v. shows.

Toothfairy, I will be praying that your single embryo transfer goes well. My husband and I would prefer doing a single transfer because I want a home birth, and our local midwife won't do a home birth for twins. I know I am older but I think the only reason I haven't gotten pregnant is because of DH sperm count. May the Lord bless your body so the little one who is transferred digs in and grows for 9months
post #13 of 631
Lilac - thank you for your sweet words. My hope is the same for a midwife home birth & being reminded of that really helps my confidence that this is what is right for us. I think you will do great with IVF for exactly what you said about the lack of sperm. I'm in limbo between excitement and reality but trying to stay positive! Can't wait for your consult so you can get moving!

Deborah- thanks! I do think if something is going to implant it is going to work with just one or end up with twins if we did two.

Toothfairy - sounds like your embryos are doing great! Good luck with your transfer tomorrow. I'm also in the SET camp. In my case I don't have a choice, but even if I did have a choice that's what I would have chosen!

toothfairy - Good luck in your transfer and TWW!

I didn't have much of a choice this time around either.

Hello all,

Toothfairy loads of luck with your tww!

where is everyone else at?

Nothing going on with me IVF wise but I will give a boyfriend update if anyones intrested (most have moved on from when I joined in 2011 so let me know if my updates are irrevelnt and I'll stalk).

Thinks are going v well with my bf although we both have the occaional emotional outbusrts which come from widowhood.  I introcuded him to my firend and her little ones and he was sooo sweet, chatting away about his nieces and stuff.  we were all going into the house and my friend's littlest one was still in the car crying, I followed my friend in but bf sponationasly said s"someones not happy" and went a made faces and played with her untill my friend brought her into the house.  It was soo lovely :)

Good luck all you know I'm thinking of and stalking you now and again but not on as much with nothing going on for me :)

toothfairy, I hope all your prayers come true!  My mom had me and my next sister in a hospital, and then my other 5 siblings were born at home unassisted - only my dad was there. I was present at my youngest siblings birth, I was 15.  I really want a home birth experience like I saw my mom have but I want a midwife there to keep my DH happy if something goes "wrong".

silverbird, I hope your new boyfriend continues to be a great man and maybe someday soon something more will happen between the two of you.  He sounds like a great man with a level head and great personality.

Silver - I'm definitely interested in your bf updates! I haven't been on this thread for very long but I was stalking you all for ages before I joined.

AFM - My embryo transfer is in just 1 week! I have my u/s on Tuesday and if everything looks good I'll have 1 blast transferred next weekend. It's hard to believe that in 1 week ill be pregnant. I've never been officially PUPO before. And toothfairy you will be PUPO tomorrow! I hope both of us have success so we can share a DDC together smile.gif

I like reading your updates too Silverbird!
