post #221 of 6311/31/13 at 1:39pmpost #222 of 6311/31/13 at 4:08pmsourire, on two of my three fresh cycles i managed to get my period before the beta, which doctors kept telling me was impossible on the amount of progesterone i was on. after my third failed fresh cycle (my first with SIRM) they tested my estrogen and progesterone levels and both were extremely low. the way it was explained to me was this: your body builds up estrogen and stores it, so that as your cycle progresses in the luteal phase, you can dip into that estrogen and use it slowly. however for some reason my body was using up all my estrogen too quickly and left me at next to nothing. estrogen activates progesterone receptors, so without estrogen, i wasn't absorbing progesterone even though i was on PIO shots at MEGA doses. the clinical term is decreased sex hormone-binding globulin, and may be worth asking about? for my FET they had me on estrogen shots a few times a week and progesterone shots nightly (until it hurt too much, and then i was switched to crinone). i also did a uterine biopsy before starting lupron, and now i'm 21 weeks (almost 22!) pregnant with twins. keep in mind these weren't even my best two blasts, as we wasted those in the fresh transfer. i think i could have spent the rest of our life savings on failed cycles had we not figured out the SHBG issue. please feel free to pm me if you have any questions!

Aura - thanks for the info that is absolutely fascinating! I actually was on estrogen patches for the entire LP this cycle and it didn't seem to make a difference though maybe it's a question of dosage. Also I didn't actually get my period while I was on progesterone, it was just spotting (though spotting for me can involve enough bleeding to have to wear a pad and change it from time to time). The crazy part is that I didn't actually get my real period until 5 days after I stopped the progesterone this cycle which is much longer than I usually wait. I'm pretty sure all my abnormal spotting is linked to my endometriosis but what you have told me is very interesting and I will definitely look into it.post #227 of 6312/1/13 at 10:25amOh Deborah! post #229 of 6312/2/13 at 5:09amDeborah: I said it on another thread, but reading it here again just makes my heart break for you again. I am just so sorry:(
Sourie: I'm sorry I missed your update regarding your transfer, I am really sorry that it didn't work...I love your new plan and will keep hoping you get your bfp soon! I hope you have a great time in Jamaica, my dh and I went there about 10 years ago and it was the best vacation! The dunes river trip is really great if you are looking for an outing one day.post #230 of 6312/2/13 at 6:46am- lilacvioletiris

post #232 of 6312/3/13 at 11:02amWhew! Houston, we have lift off! Or at least a trigger and retrieval date. We trigger tonight and ER is at 8:30 Tuesday. I developed 5 follicles 20,19,17,15 & 15. The fifth one was a runt that was at 11.5 yesterday and thankfully had a growth spurt overnight! Now I am doing as I did these last few days, taking it easy, drinking lots of fluids (water and pedialyte) and eating protein.post #233 of 6312/3/13 at 11:25am- guppyluv

Just trying not to obsess
am slammed at work - long 10+ hour days & though not physically demanding, mentally so. Distraction is nice... Have had a little cramping yesterday but could just be an over-active imagination.
Tracyamber- how r u doing? Planning on POAS before Friday or leaving it a mystery?
I'm so impatient
