1000 Minute Challenge for January 2013!!!!! Accountability thread - come in and post your work...

Happy New Year!!!! 

 

What are your work out goals for January?  For the year?  Post on this thread.  It helps me to stay accountable when I write it down.

 

I saw a picture posted on Running.com that showed two runners in the snow with the caption  - "Summer Body starts in Winter"

 

Ain't that the truth!   My goal is 1500 minutes this month.   December kicked my butt with injury and sickness.  That never happens.... I'll be more careful this month. 

 

Let's get started!

 

1/1  - 20 minute walk just because I wanted to start the year and month off right

1/2  - 70 run on the treadmill at an 8:34 pace.  I hate the treadmill.

I'm going to pretend I didn't just drop out of the December thread!  I'm using MyFitnessPal now to track my food and exercise.  We've nightweaned, and frankly, she's probably ready to wean entirely, we're just not, yet.  Her interest level is at zero, and she's becoming more agitated as she nurses.  But this is not the breastfeeding forum, so I will just say that I'm glad that cutting calories is an option for me again since she's not nursing very much anymore, and losing my supply won't be a concern.  The health problems I was facing seem to be mostly in the past now.  A friend told me she was very frightened for me, and that was a big, big wake up call.  Getting my health back is a priority for me now, and will continue to be.

I just keep chugging along...missing it every month but coming back for more because I like the accountability. I have a 1/2 marathon at the end of April and I don't want to miss 2 months of training and have to cram it all in once it warms up here.

Well, I made the 1000 minutes last month...but just barely by 5 minutes. lol. My goal for this month is 1050 minutes.

 

This might be TMI but I am trying to get rid of these pesty plantar warts on my feet (they have been hurting for awhile now) and am using the vinegar and sacyclic acid treatment which literally burns off layers of the wart and the surrounding skin a little at a time. I'm still going to be exercising though (that won't get in my way) but if they DO hurt and make me go "ouch", I would have to take exercising to the back burner and wait for them to heal. So far so good though...thumb.gif

I'm adding a goal for myself to do at least 100 minutes of strength training as part of my 1000 minutes this month.  I hate strength training but I'd at least like to get to the point where I can do a proper push up.  I can only manage maybe 5 modified push ups right now.

 

1/3 60 min elliptical

1/4 60 min run/ walk on treadmill (i think I'm finally over my fear of running on the treadmill, yay!)

 

120 min total (0 strength)

In-laws were visiting and totally threw off my running schedule. They left this morning so hoping to get back on track.
