I know I am late but I'd like to join in!  For many reasons I really need to get my butt moving. I have been the martyr SAHM who puts virtutally no time into herself for the last 9 years and I have decided that 2013 is the year to start taking care of me again. I will turn 35 this year and my youngest, and last, son will likely wean soon. I have watched my mom battle with her weight and live a seditary lifestyle most of my life. She had a knee replacement at 55 and now at 60 can't walk because she needs a hip replacement so badly, her hip joint is actually jagged from the bones rubbing together. I am terrified if I don't change NOW this will be my fate as well.

 

It is the 11th so I am going to give myself a goal of 675 for the rest of the month.

1/11- 60 minutes (2- 20 minute 1 mile walk videos, 10 minutes with hand weights, 10 minutes of stretching)

1/3  - 65 minutes at the gym (stairs)

1/4  - 20 minutes yoga - lame workout!

1/5  - 60 minute run through the town 

1/7  - 90 minute gym workout - 45 minutes weights, 40 minutes cardio and 5 stretching

1/8  - 30 minute easy trail run

1/9  - 50 minute run

1/10 - nada 

1/11 - 90 minutes in the gym - 50 minutes weights/ 40 cardio

1/12 - 70 minute run

I have had some fairly limiting pain and mobility loss in my left knee that is finally clearing up, and I've been able to get back into walking quickly enough for it to be called exercise.  Yoga on cold days, and I think next month I'll see if I can resume light strength work and Barre or Pilates.  All my equipment is just sitting there, glaring at me.

So this is a really win/lose sort of thing for me. Lose because I am not going to be anywhere near the goal or what I am supposed to be doing. However it is still a win because I am still doing moe than I have done for the last several months. So if you all don't mind watching me fall short I will continue to post my progress and hope next month is even better orngbiggrin.gif

I actually have awesome news!  I've been feeling really bummed about how out-of-shape my pregnancy and the subsequent baby-raising has left me, and then with the last few months of one health/body issue after another,  I figured I was back at square one.  Today was ultra-super-incrediably-nice outside, so I decided to go for two laps instead of one at the park, I decided to do it as quickly as I do it in the neighborhood, and I timed it.  I've been assuming I'm doing 3mph on my walks, which is slow for my exercise walks, but no, no, according to my clock I am back to rocking a 4mph pace.  It might seems small, but I'm so happy!

 

1/23 - 60 minutes brisk walk
