How are you feeling?

Hi ladies,
I thought this could be a place to discuss how we currently are feeling this pregnancy and if we are doing or taking anything to keep from feeling awful. smile.gif

I am just about 6 weeks today and morning/all day sickness has been coming on over the past 3 days or so. It's still manageable but I can't say I'm walking around with a big happy smile on my face orngtongue.gif. Basically I feel nauseous all day, I burp ALOT and drinking anything makes it worse. Oh and I have awful gas especially in the evening.
Eating is the only thing that really helps so I find myself eating ALL day! At this rate I'm going to gain a ton of weight . Lol I think I put a pound or 2 in the past few day self medicating with food orngtongue.gif

My midwife recommended 50mg of B6 in the evening and a micro dose of GTF Chromium during the day to help balance my blood sugar since I usually get really bad spins/light headed during the first trimester. Luckily that has not started yet. I just picked up the supplements yesterday so ill have to see if they help keep morning sickness at bay.

Guess I should also add the positive effects of being pregnant ... My boobs have grown already! Love love it! orngtongue.gif guess being a AA cup helps me notice the change lol

How's everyone else doing so far?

You're a week ahead of me, so I'm not as uncomfortable as you yet! I am suffering from very mild nausea when I'm hungry, but it's not bad at all yet. The ligament pain has been making an appearance, and I now have a sore lower back as well. Other than that it's just sore boobs, and they've grown, which is a bonus since I'm an A cup. Oh, and my stomach looks huge already, but that's probably just bloating or trapped wind.

I've just been trying to eat as well as possible and have started drinking cups of chicken stock which tasted like the best thing ever last night. My body must really need it. I'm also taking prenatals and also fermented cod liver oil and butter oil capsules.

Going by my last pregnancy, I'm expecting proper morning sickness to start around mid January, but hopefully it won't be too bad as I've got an almost 4 year old to look after at the same time!

I hope your morning sickness stays manageable, LetniaLynne :)

Oooh the chicken broth sounds awesome! Going to have to try that. I think it might sit better than pure tea since it actually is more like food. Thanks!

You should! It was like the most satisfying thing I had ever had. I ended up having two mugs in a row. Apparently it's really good for skin stretchiness and tendons and the like, so definitely useful during pregnancy.

The only thing I have noticed with this pregnancy is some fatigue but I'm not sure if that is just because my LO is still waking asking to nurse and I have also had some round ligament pulling which I thought was weird to be so early but maybe since its #4 my body is just preparing early since its done this so many times before.  I don't usually get nausea but I do get food aversions.  I have my first apt next wednesday so I am hoping we see a good strong heartbeat.

Oh my gosh, my pants already feel tighter! Is that even possible this early (5ish weeks)??? I would blame it on holiday excesses except I really haven't gained any weight. Weird. Think I'll be digging out the maternity pants earlier than expected innocent.gif

I'm 4.6 weeks and so far I just have heavy, fuller breast with sore nipple, HEARTBURN, ligament stretching in my belly and belly bloat. No morning sickness yet but I think with my first I noticed it around 6 weeks. Not really tired yet. I peed 3 times last night!

I'm only 4 weeks today. I don't have any real symptoms yet. Well, I have been a little bit more irritable lately. My poor husband.

I'm just trying to enjoy this time before it all starts kicking in. I'm also going to try to enjoy the last couple months of sleeping on my back or stomach because soon I won't be able to do that for a long time.

letnia- you can take unisom as well for morning sickness. I just picked mine up today from the pharmacy but it can be over the counter. I don't trust and herbs or stuff like that because I was taking dandelion root and some other herbs recommended on here for morning sickness and lost my baby at 8w and 4d. I can't say it was the herbs and I'm not blaming it but I just won't do that again "in case" just like I refuse to run for a full 30 mins anymore like I did before. That miscarriage happened in 2008 before my last DS. With last DS I had to take Reglan, unisom, and zofran because my hyperemesis was so bad. I was on IV therapy. The zofran wasn't a cure but it took the edge off so I could keep food down. I also felt that if I didn't eat a Mcdonalds sausage egg biscuit everyday for breakfast that I'd get sick. Luckily I didn't gain over 35lbs lol.

mpmck- same here, no weight gain but I feel my pants tighter already. I feel all jiggley too which is yuck. I think it might be that I've been taking in too much sodium, so I think I'll head to the gym this week and see if I can sweat some of it out and feel less bloated.

I have no real signs of pregnancy except I'm so tired. I normally don't get morning sickness until week 7 though and I'm like 5w and a couple days now. Praying it isn't going to be horrible like all the other times. I have an 8 month old baby that still wakes through out the night and a 7 year old that I have to take to school. On top of that I'll be taking anatomy this semester and will actually be working with cadavers. Hope I don't puke all day every day in class. I have a feeling I might have to drop that class. I have no round ligament pains or anything like last time... I really think it's because I just had a baby not too long ago, or at least that's what I hope.

I know exactly how you feel! I showed my belly to my partner and also my sister, and they were both really surprised by how big I look! If I'm this big already, how on earth am I going to hide it until 12 weeks!?

Hi guys, I'm 4 weeks and 2 days , just keep getting light cramping in my belly and feeling a bit nauseous when hungry. A bit worried the cramping means I'll lose this one too. Every twinge is scary lol
post #12 of 1719

Congratulations Serena! Cramping is completely normal, it's just everything stretching I think.

Serena, I hear you on the cramping. It freaks me out, too.

Nausea seems to be kicking in more for me now. I felt sick after eating tater tots today, and especially after eating cake last night. I have a general feeling of queasiness throughout the day. I hope it doesn't get much worse, because school is back in session starting on the 8th... Occasionally I have mild heartburn and slight cramping. My ligaments are hurting sometimes, too. Nursing is starting to hurt a bit as well, mostly in the beginning.

mpmck and countrybound, my pants are getting a bit tight, too. I think it's bloating for me, since I'm also gassy.

nettlesoup, the chicken stock is a great idea! I'll have to make some asap. It's so good for you, too. Now that you mentioned it I really want some right now :-) I've been hesitant about the CLO this time around. The kind we used to get doesn't tell you how much Vit. A is in it and I don't want to take a blind shot. Which brand are you using?

I just randomly started sobbing uncontrollably for a few minutes. For pretty much no reason. I didn't expect that would happen so soon. I'm 5 weeks tomorrow. Egads. My poor wife. It breaks her heart to see me cry.

I use Green Pastures fermented cod liver oil and high vitamin butter oil, but I'm taking half does as my prenatals also have fish oil.

I've had bad nausea, two days ago it was debilitating and I'm already huge. I was pregnant with twins the last time around (unfortunately they passed at 22 weeks), so I'm already pretty stretched and I believe I lost about 10 lbs. prior to this pregnancy (can make you show earlier). I'm as big at 5 1/2 weeks with this one as I was at 13 1/2 weeks with my boys. I'm pretty certain it's just one in here, so I was a bit taken aback. I alternate between being extremely fatigued and having insomnia. Booby pain comes and goes and my gas is pretty bad.

I am EXHAUSTED.  I wanted to take a nap so badly yesterday, but my oldest wouldn't let me.  Ugh.  I ended up going to bed at 8 pm with the kids.  A few bouts of  nausea, but nothing too terrible yet.  I didn't throw up with either of my girls' pregnancies, so it will be interesting to see how bad the morning sickness is this time around.  It was worse with my second than my first, so this pregnancy is liable to be even worse.

I'm still getting the cm, when does that stop? I keep going to the toilet to check its not blood, I'm so nervous about m/c'ing.

Serena, I've been having some creamy discharge all along, and today I had a bit of eggwhite cm. I think it's quite normal and I'm not sure if it's supposed to go away completely.
