Almost puts your spine in a concave shape which compresses the abdomen and makes the rib pain way worse. I've heard of women getting stress fractures, etc, from pressure on expanding ribs late in pg. it hurts so much greensad.gif

Oh, that sucks! A sprained rib. Ugh. I guess there's not much that can be done about that. I hope the ice packs give you some relief.

I'm feeling very tired and run down this week. And SLOW. No real signs of labor yet, though. I think it's going to be a few days yet, at least.

Yay glad you are feeling better!

VC-- a sprained rib? Yikes. Telling my hubs about you because he doesn't believe that can happen.

jenny-- are you feeling any energy? I know that can mean labor is close!

At the park and yet ANOTHER stranger has to comment "your baby is so small!!!" Um ok. And? I just replied "yeah she's a cutie!" And waked away. I almost don't want to go anywhere not only because traveling with a newborn is hard obviously but because I'm sick to death of the comments and telling complete strangers that she was 5 weeks early is just annoying. Ugh.

Double post again!!!

Tilly, I'd tell those stupid strangers, "Do you like it when people make comments about your size?"  Jerks.  They should clearly understand that "tiny and adorable" is the correct package of compliments to bestow upon a newborn and just telling a mother that her newborn is SO SMALL is not a welcome comment.

Man, I'm starting to get major dry mouth.  I had this at the beginning of the pregnancy but it had pretty much gone away.  Now it's back.  Let's hope it is just a full circle pregnancy thing for me and means the baby will be here soon.

Thanks Serafina. It was so annoying yes! Why is size the first thing that comes out of anyone's mouth? Going from a size 8, 145lbs to size 20, 220lbs I've learned to not care about how big or small someone is because it's not a constant in my life. I guess I need to get over it. My DH sure gets annoyed with me and thinks I'm way to sensitive. Probably.

I think I'm getting the beginnings of migraine headaches! Omg. Like stabbing pain in the left or right side of my temple that comes and goes or sometimes lasts all day. I've been taking Tylenol but am worried. I really was feeling great overall so this puts a damper on things. I've been guzzling water and even bought coconut water for extra electrolytes! Is it the hormones from breastfeeding? Ugh!!!

lilmamita-- lots of dry mouth here too how weird! I thought it must be dehydration but egads I feel like I drink a TON of water so if I go without for a few minutes I should be ok. Nope.

Tilly- I had a friend who got migraines while nursing and ended up quitting. I think there are safe meds you can take while nursing and battling the migraine. If you can get your hands on a Dr Hale's medicine book, that'd be good. Make sure you are eating plenty and drinking plenty too. :)

Last night my discharge was a bit off coloured. Kind of like it had some old blood in it, not bright blood like typical bloody show. Talked to my doula and she didn't think it was anything since contrax never picked up. Today I have a cold and am feeling exhausted. I'm thinking of having my parents watch DD one more night and skipping school tomorrow so I can rest a bit more.

Tilly-My first thought was you might be getting headaches from your neck and/or back being out of whack from breastfeeding.  With my youngest I started getting back and neck pain that ended up being related to how I would sit or recline in bed while nursing him, and even occasionally headaches. If you can, try to adjust your position, and maybe try some heat on your neck to help loosen any muscles that might be tight and making your head hurt.

Going off what Freckled said about being out of whack, maybe get a chiropractor adjustment if you can. Between pregnancy and labor you may need one anyway and with the migraines it should help along with the stuff Freckled mentioned!

i don't know if adjustments work for migraines, but i had my first chiro appt ever for my sprained rib last week and just wanted to report the pain is almost completely gone!! Tilly, hope you feel better soon!

i went back to prenatal yoga last week just because i was so damn tired from sitting around and "resting" all the time. it felt really good to get out of the house again to do something just for myself, and just for fun! yeah i paid the price the next day when i was all sore, but that was all right with me.

now i'm back in the cold boat and had to cancel our day trip to San Francisco to meet up with friends, meaning i have no plans for today.. maybe i'll write a letter or something, i'm definitely done preparing for this baby.. i cannot even be bothered with finishing up Ina May's guide to childbirth.

I'm still cranky and pouty. Yesterday we went shopping and did some walking and contractions really got going. At one point I was riding in the car and could barely stay sitting through a couple. Then we went to dinner and came home and they dropped back to one or two an hour.

Then in the middle of the night I thought my water was leaking, woke DF up, who jumped up and started freaking out, only to realize I likely just peed a little. :/

Didn't feel baby all morning so went in to be checked and of course she started moving around. I let them check me and I'm still only 3cm. That was quite discouraging. The house doc wanted to induce me because my BP was 140/90 and I'm due tomorrow, but after I laid on my side for a little bit it dropped back to 136/72, so he left it up to me if I wanted to stay or go, since I have an appt with my doc 1st thing tomorrow. It was tempting, but I'd really rather not unless there was a clear need.

I could probably get things going if I got walking again, but I'm worn out from all these contractions that aren't doing anything. Boo.

Well it never turns into a full blow migraine thank GOD. I did take Tylenol and am hoping its related to the 2-3 week growth spurt. Trying to catch up here. Impossible!

yep totally normal. Your body is making Progesterone, whatever it doesn't need it releases. Thats what my midwife told me. This is my third baby and I never experienced this before.

Getting excited my due date is this Saturday Sept. 21 :joy

Wishing you all the most magical delivery!

I'm getting up to pee way more than 5 times each night now.. Sitting around after breakfast feeling sleep-deprived, with a whole day to get through. Good to know it will only be a few more days like this, though!!

Vc-that was totally me the last few days before I had Sylvia. I would drive my girls to school and come home and crash back into bed while my son laid next to me and watched cartoons on Netflix. I'm so thankful he was so good about any time I had to tell him I was too tired for anything because of baby sister in my belly-because I was whipped.

I was totally lazy by the end, just lounging around all day doing nothing! The nesting cleaning instinct never hit me lol

Sounds like our day today. Chloe watched movies while I napped or laid around. Thank god it was rainy otherwise she may have been more annoyed with me. Nice relaxing day for us.

Supposed to be a rainy weekend here, I think I need to head to the library with my little guy in the morning to pick out some DVD's.  I am still feeling pretty good but know I should be resting  now and just letting my body take a break.

I tried to nap but reflux makes laying down impossible.
