I also have myself convinced it may be twins! I think it's probably just that it's my second pregnancy. My belly is popping out like whoa. My mom who is a L&D nurse even commented she can't believe it's so big already. I am thin to begin with so maybe that's part of it, too. Any weight gain will show on me. I have told some people but think it'll be kind of fun to just wait and see if/when people ask if I am preg. Nausea is much better this past week (10w tomorrow) though has been on and off still some days. Energy is still at an all time low. I go to bed between 8:30-9p. And to top it off my 2 1/2 yr old dropped his nap this month! OYYYYY

i spent yesterday really, really sick. i barely ate anything and didn't really keep down what i ate. i slept very little. i had a terrible migraine in addition to the barfing. i can't believe i am so ill at almost-12 weeks! i thought that things would have turned the corner or at least leveled off by now.
i guess this endurance test is my body training for parenting twins. today my goal is to not throw up and to eat more than 50 grams of protein. blech.

MrsAndMrs - I feel for you! I think you're doing marvelous and I am hoping for you that the beleagured morning sickness is a result of the hormones not being taken over by both placentas just yet! My midwife's last two children were fraternal twins that she carried to 40 weeks and she did the birth of my firstborn when she was 22 weeks pregnant with them, so I think it does taper at some point, even for twin mamas! Your wife sounds really supportive of you, so I hope this is the hardest part and the actual parenting will be more of a group effort!

thanks aidenn. yes! totally! i will be well enough to deliver someone's baby by the time i hit 22 weeks! i mean, not that i would, but i will feel well enough to! i think part of the issue is the double hormones of twins+ the supplemental hormones from the fertility clinic. i get to start tapering off them this week (i think/hope) and i really, really believe with my whole heart that things will get a lot better when i'm not taking extra progesterone and estrogen three times a day. that belief is what gets me through.

11w today and I feel great. Don't tell DH, but I think the nausea I was getting was related to the cigarette I'd sneak once a day. I'd feel great until smoking, then is be nauseous for awhile.
I finally quit quit though. It was so much harder this time. I think it's because we TRIED for Conner, so I was fully prepared to go into pregnancy mode. This pregnancy was a huge surprise that completely caught me off guard. I wasn't prepared at all.post #426 of 11622/19/13 at 7:52pm- sarahl918

8 weeks 3 days.... first vomiting episode. Oh man, I did not see that coming! I really thought I'd be one of those ladies who was just nauseous all day and didn't get physically sick. I have to admit I did feel 100% better after the fact, though I was shaking uncontrollably. One more month, one more month....

Sarah - I'm sorry to say that reading your post made me smile because I was happy for you, knowing that it's a good sign.
Hope that it doesn't last too long and that it doesn't get much worse.
I haven't yet and am thinking at this point that I won't. The nausea has mellowed over the last couple of days as well but I'm still having major food aversions and being VERY picky with what I eat although my appetite has picked up a bit. My major bummer has been headaches lately, had one yesterday that lasted pretty much all day, all throughout the night and it's lingering this morning, ugh! post #428 of 11622/20/13 at 10:46am- swissmiss2584

Off and on for the past week I've woken up to pressure in my sinuses although I can breathe through my nose. It makes my head feel swimmy and yucky. I wouldnt call it dizziness because the room isnt spinning. It does start to go away as the day move on and I feel a little drainage. It almost feels like allergies. I think our heater causes it. It was pumping a lot last night even though we turned it down to 60. It must have been really cold outside.
Anyone else dealing with the sinus pressure and yucky feeling in their head?post #429 of 11622/20/13 at 10:57am- LivingSky

That was me too. My first vomiting episode was at 10 weeks! But it was the one and only one (so far) and hopefully that will be your only one as well. And I felt nauseous most days all day right up until the day I threw up, and then basically no nausea since. I hope that happens for you too!post #430 of 11622/21/13 at 7:55amSwissMiss, I definitely have stuffy allergy head. Can't stand it. Walking across campus is no joke when you can't breathe!
Still have not vomited (yay!), but tooth brushing always makes me gag.
The other day, I was thinking how (relatively) good I've been feeling, then in rapid succession saw a pair of dogs going at the bubblers downtown and a homeless dude doing the farmers blow onto the sidewalk, and very nearly lost my breakfast.
I think the secret is not to get cocky about how well I feel!post #431 of 11622/21/13 at 9:00amI have the same problem with tooth brushing, it's quite annoying!
post #432 of 11622/21/13 at 10:42amTooth brushing can tip me over the edge sometimes, it's a gamble in the morning if I'm gonna puke or not lol.
I've been feeling a bit better, only the occasional vomiting once or twice a week, but getting headaches now

My major bummer has been headaches lately, had one yesterday that lasted pretty much all day, all throughout the night and it's lingering this morning, ugh! Haha, if I weren't the one feeling crappy, I'd be laughing, too! I hope it doesn't get much worse either. Yesterday I called my OB to talk about a diff prenatal but all he wanted to do was give me Zofran. I'm not real keen on taking EXTRA medication so unless things get severely worse, I'm not going to take it. Plus, that stuff is SO expensive! I am glad you're feeling better lately & really hope you don't ever get to "the puking point." The more time that goes on the more I understand what works for relief and what doesn't. I'm spacing out my vitamins, eating SMALL meals (which is hard when you're starving, but not worth it when you get pukey after eating!). I'll be 9 weeks on Saturday so holding out hope that I'll be one of those girls that feels better earlier. Ha! I hope your headaches go away soon! Have you been trying anything homeopathic? I've only had one or two really bad headaches, but I think they were triggered by Preggie Pops (sometimes sugar does that to me).

Brushing my teeth was HORRIBLE with all 3 boys! If that toothbrush stopped moving at all, I gagged and gagged. I just realized last week that brushing my teeth hasn't bothered me once this pregnancy! Yay for happy oral health, LOL! Stupid food aversions though! Grocery shopping was so difficult on wednesday. And this elderly lady and I kept at the same pace in the store and she had that horrible old lady super sweet smelling perfume on. It was torture.

I usually use Tom's of Maine, but a few months ago was at Trader Joe's and got their brand. I ran out and bought more Tom's and totally gagged. I had to go back and get more Trader Joe's. Its a lot more mild and less sweet which for me equals less queasiness.post #436 of 11622/22/13 at 7:54pm- KaliHekate

12 weeks, 3 days here. Feeling really good (no more nausea, though it never was too bad - there was some queasiness but no vomiting) except I've been dealing with a lot of constipation. That has made me a lot more bloated I think. Sometimes still a bit tired but basically a lot less so than I was at 6-8 weeks.

This explains me to a T. Except I'm a week behind.

8wks 6days was what the nurse measured from my ultrasound. I'm not so sick today but was terrible the last few days.
Peppermint tea is saving my life. I can no longer stand kombucha or kefir but won't give up. I almost threw up 2 nights ago. That never happened with DD and I almost think it's because I could sleep more and eat better just me working a full time job. Plus-- I wasn't around food all day like I am at home. Ugh! Cooking anything is so hard because I'm so offended by the smell!!!post #439 of 11622/22/13 at 11:26pm- vc2013

Nausea during the day has become less at 9 weeks. But I'm still having "evening sickness". Ginger ale helps a bit. Also a late night snack before bed (I have a weird combo of nausea and hunger), right now a rice cake with fruit preserve and cheese works well for me. So I won't have to wake up and munch on water crackers in the middle of the night anymore.post #440 of 11622/22/13 at 11:38pm- tillymonster

Yeah what is with this night nausea? It's horrid. I just want to go to sleep and get this barfy feeling that kinda feels like hunger too. Peppermint tea every night is working so far. I also was doing kefir but ugh can't stomach the stuff right now. I was never a huge milk lover.Return HomeBack to Forum: September 2013 Due Date Club- How are you feeling?
