Taking The Scenic Route to a BFP - Winter/Spring 2013 Edition - Page 22

I'll trade you some LP for some follicular phase? I wish is was that easy redface.gif

I've had 1 monitored cycle (my first ever) where my E2 was high. It was something like 75 on day 3 and I think it should be below 50. Otherwise, i have zero menopausal symptoms. I'm always freezing, no hot flashes. Everything points to just really bad progesterone, which is what last cycle showed too. I'm just always worried about early onset menopause b/c the first RE I ever saw, totally freaked me out and said that was what was happening to me. He never even followed an unmedicated cycle, so I don't know why I put so much stock into what he said.

Just popping in to say 'hi' to everyone. I've been following along, just not posting because it's been really busy here at home. We got a 3.5 month old border collie cross pup, (we have a 8.5 year old Golden Retriever, too) and I've got an assignment I'm working on that is due this Friday. Also, we've been looking into preschools for DS, for September-- not something that we can do easily, since we have to be careful that it is a good match for him because he has some sensory integration issues that make him prone to meltdowns. It may seem early, but we are advocating on his behalf to get assessed in March for his level of need for some Occupational Therapy services in the classroom, and if it turns out that he qualifies for some funding then we have to be sure that he gets into the preschool that we end up selecting. We went this morning to check out one preschool-- it's an integrated one, with 10 kids total and 2 of the spots being designated for kids who get the early intervention services whether it is OT, PT, Speech, Pscyh, etc. It's 2 days a week, and there are 2 groupings for his age group-- only one spot left, which we can have if we want. We have another preschool to tour tomorrow morning, and then hopefully we could check out one more place before making our decision about any of them. Not sure if I posted an update about our injectible IUI, but it's supposed to be for next cycle. We have to pay $1200 by Feb 8 if we want to go ahead with it. After a difficult weekend (kids not sleeping well at night, DS having lots of meltdowns because of being overtired-- which makes the sensory stuff way worse), and cleaning up a couple of housetraining mishaps  with the pup, I was quite relieved that it isn't happening right now. Oh yeah... and I found out yesterday that DH shelled out $500 on a repair bill for his vehicle-- from a month ago. I don't know how you can forget about telling your partner about something like that... I would have skipped the acupuncture appointments I had this past month... My response was,  "Ummm, so, can we even afford the upcoming IUI? Cuz, if I would have known about this before then, I wouldn't have told the clinic it's going to be a go". It sounds nicer here, than how I was last night when I found out. I was so mad, because it isn't the first time we have had differences when it comes to communicating about finances. It is SO frustrating! Anyway, that's my rant...

Hope everyone is doing well.

Just a quick one... Back for proper later...
Indie at 17dpo have you poas lately? Am I right in thinking progesterone can give a false positive? Sorry to be that nosey... But I'm so living vicariously lol

Omg tenzins m... I so understand! I got a call when on holiday (he'd gone shopping by himself - never good) saying I've found this brioni suit it's on sale from 5k to 2k... So I did the spiel about if you think we can afford it yada yada... He bought it... Men! Lol
Sounds like you've had a rough time of it this weekend - hope it works out this month

skj - yay for good numbers!!! can we stop with the menopause talk? ughhhh thinking about that makes my stomach turn. i can't believe your first RE even suggested that. bastard. also, i think you've asked me about what progesterone i'm on and i keep forgetting to answer! i was doing 200mg vaginal prometrium twice a day. last cycle i was doing 200mg total orally.

sila - so glad you O'd and you are now on deck for this next cycle! i don't necessarily *hate* snow... but i really don't know how to function in it.

chuord - nope, i'm not preggo :) and no, progesterone doesn't give a false positive. i think my progesterone is typically just fine... so with this added supplementation i have a super long lp. i also took it up to 15 dpo and i know most people stop around 12/13dpo if they haven't gotten a bfp.

chrissy - hoping things become a little clearer in the next few days!

afm - spotting has started. so glad i can come here and update you guys on what's happening between my legs. if i wasn't trying to get pregnant and stuff, i would totally do an experiment to see how long i could take progesterone before my body decides to start AF anyway... i'm guessing i'll start in about 2 days.

Will be back with personals later. On phone. Just took this a few minutes ago. What ya think?

Holy updates Batman!

Sila- I am so happy to see your body finally cooperated! YAY!! Excited for you to get started on your injectable cycle and crossing everything and praying hard for success! Today I got a new pillow at my chiropractor, I'm hoping it will help with my TMD induced headaches. Any progress with your jaw?

SKJ- I'm glad your numbers don't sound at ALL like pre-menopause. If they can get your eggs stronger than your LP should improve by a lot. Sad that you might have to miss another cycle of trying but it would be a killer Christmas present.

Chrissy- What is going on there... Is there a chance that can be HCG rising??

chourd- Thats funny about your DH fixing his moms denture with a dremel tool. To be honest it isn't too different than what is used in the dentist office so... hope it fits better now!

tenzin- Ohh husbands. Are you good to go with your IUI anyway? What a pain in the butt! BTW, Car repairs S*ck.

AFM- Still hoping for good new Friday. Still feeling basically normal. There are enough things going on that I think its still in there, but they are so mild that it worries me things aren't going well. Wait and see, wait and see. We are expecting a monster of a storm Friday afternoon-Saturday so I'll be snowed in for a while. Boo.

TF - Do you take any b vitamins? I can't remember if it's 6 or 12 but it really made my symptoms mild. I really had none except for hunger and tiredness when I was pg with ds. I know Friday will show you such great news!!!!

Tenzin - I'm wondering if you're going ahead, too. Don't get me started on husbands and lack of communication. They can be airheaded at times. lol

Indie - Any updates?

Hi everyone else. Updates!!!!

AFM - I guess the only way to find out what's going on with the hpt's is to try to find a doctor willing to work with me and get blood work done. I'm so confused as I honestly never had this happen. DH asked today if it's possible I had twins and just lost one. What's funny is this mornings wondfo is lighter then yesterday but the dollar store cheapie came up just fine and I used my 3rd tinkle of the day that I held for 3 hours. I showed it to DH and he said "Ok. I see 2 lines. Now what?" Very good question. Also still spotting on and off. More on when I get hot and bothered then at any other time.

ETA - Picked up frer for tomorrow morning and have 1 dollar cheapie left.

Seriously, our snow forecast is up to 33 inches... What in the HECK am I going to do with nearly 3 feet of snow?!

Look at it and curse? Then fix some hot chocolate and curl up with a book or movie?

Chrissy - Please go get it checked out. These are all symptoms of possible ectopic pregnancy. Better safe than sorry. What CD are you on? My only other idea is you ovulated and are very early pregnant again?

Chrissy - it could also be that you have retained something. I would get checked out just to be sure. I thought that's what happened to me after the d&c. But, I just had really slow dropping hcg and recurrent spotting for three or so weeks. In any event, I would see a doc just to be safe.
Sila and SKJ - Thank you both. I'll call ob tomorrow to see what they want to do. Probably just blood work.  I'm on cd21 right now and just confused since the tests got lighter/negative and now are getting dark. Hell with it, I'll call tomorrow. lol

ETA - they want to do a wait and see approach. He doesn't think it's incomplete since I have no signs of it nor does he think it's etopic. Again cause lack of symptoms. He agreed it could be taking the hcg forever to drop. I can continue testing at home if I want but he said if the test do get darker to call back. He believes they'll get lighter. So that's the final update on this. Sorry to have bombarded y'all with all those questions/tests/crap.

Any weekend plans?

Chrissy, I'm glad you know not to worry! Hoping it works out for you...
I have to have Chinese new year dinner with the in laws... Yay! They're ok - now - but they couldn't be bothered to speak to me until after the wedding, as I'm a) not Chinese and b) wasn't 'chosen' by her lol! My dh is way more modern - unfortunately he is an only son! (older brother stillborn) (Taiwanese not communist - so it wasn't from a lack of trying lol)
