Anyone see a NUB in these photos and understand the NUB theory?
Both genders have a NUB between 11w-14w and for boys is arches up just a bit and for a girl it typically runs parallel with the spine between the legs and looks sort of flat and boys looks a bit like a bulb or rounded at the tip. the do both look like penises though. At 10w1d we could tell our last little guy was a boy because his tiny little nub pointed up. At 12w1d we could tell that DD 2y/o was a girl by the shape of her nub that looked like a penis :)
Just google gender nub theory, there are LOTS of examples.
She said it's *probably* a boy because the girl nub wouldn't stick out this much if it was a girl, but that it's hard to be sure in the 14th week if baby is a boy and there's not a visible scrotum/penis combo. So who knows, probably boy, but maybe not. I have another scan in 3 weeks and I'm sure we'll confirm boy :)
I had u/s done at 11w6d and the dr asked if I was goind to find out the sex, I said yes...she asked if I wanted her to take a peek to see if she could see anything. she said her guess was a girl based on the angle and had another u/s down the following week and u/s tech also said girl. I was surprised they'd even guess that early but I read up on the angle of the dangle theory and it seems to be pretty accurate so I guess that's how they can tell so early....of course it's not 100% at this point.
