Quick Pot Roast Recipe please!

I am in search of a pot roast recipe for the slow cooker ASAP.  The kicker is I need one without broth, canned soup mix, or prepackaged seasonings (such as onion soup mix, italian seasoning mix, etc.).  I am in the process of making chicken stock now, but won't be done in time to get this in the slow cooker and we have friends coming over for dinner tonight.

Pretty, pretty, please?

I've used a roast and thrown it in the crock pot with pepperocini peppers and some of the juice, oregano, s&p too.  

Or straight s&p, garlic heads, bay leaf.
