Food Cravings - Page 6

Meat...really, just meat. Which is really weird for me because I don't eat meat. I never really liked it growing up and I don't really like it now...except that I want it. So my wonderful hubby got to go to his favorite burger joint and I ate a huge burger and I didn't feel weighed down and icky afterwards. I'm not sure what that means for this kid though...my usual cravings have been in the bean, spinach and cheese categories.

I wouldn't over think it too much. Sounds like you listened to your body and that it responded well. smile.gif

I'm craving spicy food. Sadly it gives me suchhhh bad heartburn. Really suffering from some rice beans and salsa I ate tonight. Usually that type of thing digests great. Not anymore!

I can't stand to be around meat unless it's pork...  or a bacon cheeseburger.  I could live on bacon cheeseburgers and fries right now.  So grossly unhealthy.  Everything else, including beans makes me want to puke.

I can't eat tomato type sauces at the moment, which is rather annoying.

But I just had a major chocolate milkshake craving, so blenderised some cocoa powder and icing sugar with milk. It did the job.

All the things I wanted (well, the only things that didn't repulse me and make me queasy to even think about eating) a few weeks ago (pizza, ice cream), now make me sick when I eat them.  And the things that repulsed me a few weeks ago (spinach, salmon, sweet potatoes), are the things I want now!

what is it with sweet potatoes? the other night we went out for dinner and i ordered sweet potato fries and sweet potato soup without even thinking about.

(it was a delicious meal)

Interesting about the sweet potato cravings. I saw a sweet potato and spinach soup recipe today and started drooling. I didn't get to making it, but I did have some sweet potato fries.

I just woke up craving pancakes with golden syrup. But do I have the energy to make them? I might just have porridge with syrup instead.

Nettle, I just wanted you to know your post about pancakes lead to a pancakestravaganza in my house. My wife made a batch of blueberry lemon ricotta and a batch of raspberry lemon ricotta. Thanks for the inspiration!

Haha, that sounds amazing! I never did make pancakes, but it's in my head now so I'll be making them when I get the chance.

I just went out post-blizzard (about 28 inches here) to the grocery for ingredients to make pina colada cupcakes. I've been craving for days and the bakery I've had them at only makes them seasonally (of course, it is closed due to the blizzard anyway). I was desperate. These better be as good at the bakery!

That's a crazy amount of snow, Toothfairy! We're lucky if we get a couple of inches!

The cupcakes came out amazing. Of course I ate one & have no interest in the rest. Good thing I'm going to a party today!

I must be in need of Vitamin C because I woke up craving a tall glass of OJ, so we went out for breakfast. I picked up a giant grapefruit while we were grocery shopping...just felt like I might want it later. I just ate a quarter of it like a raptor and it was the sweetest, most juicy, delicious grapefruit I've ever tasted. I normally don't even care for grapefruit.
