I think it depends where it was grown. I think I read Australian rice is fine. Maybe someone else will chime in.

There are some things you can do to reduce the amount of arsenic in your rice. I'm not familiar with Australian rice but rice from California are lower in arsenic levels than rice grown in other U.S states. Also aromatic rice such as Indian Basmati and Thai Jasmine rice are lower. Rinsing your rice before cooking will lower levels or cooking in water and draining. I eat quite a bit of rice but I have reduced the amount my kids eat. I've never been a fan of rice cereal for babies but I skipped it entirely with my 1 year old. I give all of my kids more variety of grains now, alternating rice with couscous, quinoa, pasta, and potatoes. I've also stopped using rice milk entirely and use almond, coconut, hemp, or soy milk only.

I read recently (Discover magazine) that white rice generally has less arsenic that brown. Rice grown in cotton-growing regions generally has more. California rated pretty well. According to the article, rice should be rinsed and cooked like pasta in 6 parts water for 1 part rice. This works nicely if you let the rice sit in the covered pan for a few minutes after draining.
Sorry, I don't have links. Perhaps someone more link-saavy will chime in.
