games to play with your fetus

Okay, so there's always the poke -and-response game. I was bored the other night and found that I get a better response to Abba on the headphones-over-the-tummy than Beyonce, but the Black Keys were just not appreciated at all.

What games do you play with your little critter?

(Oh, and DD shouting in the general direction of my vagina elicits no response whatsoever, fortunately.)

First, you made me laugh, now you're trying to make me pee my pants. :)

We're playing a lot of "Watch the belly dance on it's own" in this house. It's quite entertaining. at least twice a day, my belly looks like a scene out of the alien movie before the beast pops through. Just crazy motion. I haven't tried different music, though. But, I will admit it is a little less entertaining at 3AM than 5PM. :)

I need to try the music thing. My daughter likes to talk to the baby, but we haven't gotten much response, yet. My husband likes to poke at the belly and see what happens. Sometimes he gets a response, sometimes not. ;)

Well this baby is extremely active!  My partner and I spoon when we're sleeping, and last night we fell asleep with my belly up against his lower back.  Apparently I fell asleep first, and he said the baby kept him awake for quite a while, poking him in the back!  But as far as during the daytime.....we joke that this baby is going to be born looking like a golf ball with dimples all over it from being poked!  With four big siblings and two excited parents, this baby is constantly being poked and prodded.  After dinner I usually lay down on the couch and there is belly-watching/poking.  Its pretty funny!  Much more fun than tv!  :P

That is a favorite over here, too!
DS will talk and sing to the babies once in a while, but there hasn't been any response. I am going to try playing music tonight. Went to see Alanis Morissette when I was like 20 weeks, and baby girl seemed to enjoy it. It was the first time that DP was able to feel any movement :)

I remember watching a Mythbusters episode when Kari was pregnant on the show, and they were testing out some bullet/gun myth and every time she fired the gun, the baby kicked her really hard... maybe I should get DH to take me up to the rifle range.  Just for kicks. (hee)

Actually yesterday was really uncomfortable - baby shifted in the afternoon and started poking my internal organs.  It was highly unpleasant.  Seems to be back to normal today though.
