Sorry about that! Here's a good explanation of it. I don't remember having it in my first pregnancy, but definitely in my second. I've heard that's more common, as the body is adjusting back to what it's known, or something like that. Who knows? ;)

I always gain big and fast with my pregnancies, and while I loathe being in maternity pants at 6 weeks, the comfort of an elastic belly is better than the dumpiness of watching my post-baby loose skin explode over the waistband of regular jeans!  :)  So, here's me at 6.5 weeks with my newly outfitted bump.  Keep in mind, I'm trying to wait until 9 weeks to reveal to my MIL....and without wearing DH's 2X shirts, I'm not sure how I'm going to "suck it in"!

Aidenn, you're about the same size as me! I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow and people are already making me worry about the idea of twins.

Nettlesoup - No worries!  I was the same size at the same time with my last pregnancy and she was a singleton!  It's just how my body rolls.  Though I will admit, the thought (fear?) of twins creeps into my head as I am perusing maternity clothes so early!  I have such envy for the pregnant girls who don't need maternity clothes until 18 weeks!

I only have a singleton this time and I'm huge already Nettle. Aidenn- I feel your pain. I was in maternity clothes very quickly this time around.

This conversation is making me feel a lot better. All of my clothes are uncomfortable. I was starting to feel crappy thinking about maternity clothes so soon. but I'm almost 8 weeks with twins and here are other people wearing maternity clothes. What a relief. Thanks everyone.

I've been wandering around with my jeans button undone, just for some comfort! I'm going to have to dig out the maternity clothes very soon!

Hehe, right now I'm thinking I may not need any maternity clothes. I work at a gym so I wear yoga pants or sweat pants every day. I've got some loose tops for the summer etc. and later on I may be able to get by with large t-shirts. I'm all for saving money so we don't feel so stressed out about supporting another being financially.

Dakipode, that sounds like a good plan. I've still got a couple of pairs of jeans and some tops from last time, so i won't have to spend much if anything either.

I've been wearing yoga pants almost exclusively since the start of January, before I even knew I was pg. I just thought I needed to pay off the cookies. smile.gif
Once I found out, I bought several maternity items on super duper sale. I have to interview clients at my internship, and occasionally go to court, so had to get some things that were appropriate.
It is so nice not to have to struggle with zippers and buttons!

I totally bought a few maternity things last night. Now, I'm thinking about designing maternity clothes because the whole time I was looking I was thinking "What f'ing pregnant woman would ever want to wear this??" Skin-tight dresses, heinous patterns, gathering in all the wrong places... terrible. There were about 5 different spandex-y dresses in horizontal stripes and such, tapered at the bottom with rouching all the way down the sides. Who??

Madelyn; that is so true! I had a look at some maternity clothes online, just out of curiosity and the selection was awful!

I like the body/belly-hugging maternity!  It's the only time I can show off a belly LOL.  The other stuff just makes me look fat because I have such narrow shoulders.
Almost couldn't get my pants buttoned this morning.  Think it may be getting time to pull out the maternity boxes...  Last time I think it was around 9 weeks.

I like the body hugging maternity too! But, I didn't have much of a choice at the end my pregnancy with dd. I got HUGE. I had a very breech belly, which I didn't know was a thing until after I had her. So, although I don't mind having a big pregnant belly I really would rather not look like I'm carrying twins lol. I feel behind! My pants are buttoning just fine. Shirts fit. I have a little belly but I really think its just bloating/my post baby belly that I can't suck in anymore.

I was huge with my last pregnancy, too.  At the very end I had excess fluid, which made me measure 42 weeks at 37 weeks (and I got larger until I delivered).  It was insane.

I'm glad I'm not the only one!! I hope the "you get bigger with you 2nd" thing isn't true. I actually was hardly retaining any fluid at all. Just for fun, this pic is me at 38 weeks with dd.

She wasn't even that big, 7lb10oz at 39 weeks.

Oh you're just all out there :)  Here is me 8 days before dd2 was born.  None of my maternity tops covered my belly anymore and my pants wouldn't stay up either

and here's me at 34 weeks:

Cute! I just love bug preggo bellys. You carried pretty high. And waaaaay out. Love it!

Big not bug haha

I like the fitted maternity too, especially around the belly, but absolutely nothing I saw last night was flattering! It reminded me of tacky club wear. Which is just weird, considering the circumstances smile.gif
