Positive thread.......I know all of our kids drive us crazy at some point. - Page 2

Awwwwwwwww.

Little Miss woke up early this morning and wound up in bed with me, sleeping in my arms the way she did when she was grasshopper-sized.  When we woke up again, we rubbed noses for a while, and just snuggled and smooched and hugged.  love.gif

At breakfast, after being reminded only once, she used her "More, please!" phrase each time she needed more to drink.

Just now Doozer called me, "Buddy."  Which just tickled my funny bone for some reason (I call the kids "Buddy").

My daughter chloe who is autistic sang happy birthday to my sister on the phone it was the cutest thing ever my sister thought it was cute.

My four year old daughter's first tv show was She-Ra. (I wanted her to have the "princess" schema open with the idea that princesses carry swords and kick ass--it's going well!) But in the show the bad guy characters do a lot of saying, "Yes, master."

So whenever I ask her to do stuff she gets into this full on Quasimoto hunchback thing dragging her leg and says in a rough voice, "Yes, Master! Right away, Master!" I generally feel a little embarrassed but it's hilarious. Once or twice other mothers have given me weird looks. I kind of shrug.

This is a great thread! I LOVE being able to stay at home and it's nice to see so many positive stories instead of negative ones.

I love how both my girls crawl into bed with me and we can snuggle as long as we want before we get up.

We were all having lunch at the kitchen table and my 5yo was staring at me waiting for me to finish so I could get her a cookie. I informed her it's kind of rude to stare at people while they eat. No sooner do I finish that sentence and I start feeling another set of eyes. I turn around and my 2yo was standing on her chair with her head inches from mine staring at me with a big grin of mischief giggling! I laughed uncontrollably it was so funny. (She is definitely my more defiant / spirited child!)

We are expecting #3 and DD1 is so excited she can barely contain herself. She has been drawing pictures of the baby constantly and trying to make lists of all the things we need to do for the baby. So precious.

My kids sometimes go "Yes Sir, Mama T!" like I'm some kind of drill sergeant or something. I have no idea where it came from, but as long as they're doing as I asked them it works?!

And we watched Xena a lot for a while for the same reason, lol!

We are an unschooling family but I like to (sarcastically) refer to myself as the benevolent dictator. :) I only get them on a time installment plan and I have to relinquish levels of control on specified dates. :)

Lovely idea for a thread!

My six year old daughter is obsessed with mythical creatures at the moment. Her usual costume of choice is a mermaid tail made of swimsuit fabric allowing her to play in the water while in costume. Today, however, she is branching out a bit and has designed herself a "pegacorn" outfit. The wings were crafted from lavender colored felt and the horn from green construction paper. She attached both parts to her clothing and head respectively using tape and has been prancing around like a horse all morning, singing spells to make the sun rise and control nature in other ways. She may even dress in this fashion for our hike in what she's dubbed the Enchanted Woods this afternoon. lol.gif

omg....these are all great stories. ... and they are all so unique and funny in different ways. love it!

This morning my little 21 month was eating breakfast and insisted on having a piece of soda bread i made yesterday. i finally gave in thinking"i know he's not going to eat it" and when i gave him a couple of pieces he popped it in his mouth and said"ummm...ummmmm" like it was the most sublime thing. he so damn cute!

Or how sometimes only DS1 can decipher DS2's toddler speak. DS2 says he will never stop drinking my milk because "It's so delicious mom!" and they'll both run around the house singing; today Rihanna and the Eurythmics were their favorites. I love my boys luxlove.gif .

DD is the same way. DS has a hard time with speech, but sometimes when I'm having trouble understanding him, DD will say, "He's saying... " and I ask him, and he's like "Yeah!!!"

I love how DD is forever drawing pictures for people. This evening before bed, she decided she was going to start making Valentine's Day cards, and made one for the new baby brother or sister (due in April), with a chocolate chip cookie, and a note that said, "You're as sweet as a gingerbread cookie."

DS and DD both come running up to me randomly, and give me hugs and kisses and tell me they love me.

Last night, after I tucked DD into bed, she said, "I love you, mommy. You're the bestest mommy in the whole world!"

I love how I can take the time for tea parties in the middle of the day, and to fix them there favorite homemade foods. When I was working it was BARELY do-able, we have a much more relaxed pace of life now.

I love how when they are sick I don't need to worry about missing work or finding someone to take care of them. They can be home in their own bed with mommy.

My 12-month-old is all about kissing right now, and it's so sweet!  Every morning, she goes over to her little bench and kisses each stuffed animal, all in a row.  She's also learning to blow kisses, and it's so funny how she smashes her hand into her face as hard as she possibly can.  And nothing, nothing, nothing can compare to the sweet kisses, snuggles, and gentle smiles when waking up together!

My one year old son will walk around shaking his head back and forth saying "Whoa whoa whoa" then he'll sit down on purpose and say "ow" all over dramatic. My 2 and 3 year old daughters will pack a little bag and put thier shoes on, and walk to the door hand in hand saying "byeee love you byeee" when they know they are not going anywhere, all 3 kids are over dramatic. My 3 year old fake cries on cue. My 2 year old was sitting on the couch next to me drawing a picture, and I was talking to my husband and I heard her say mommy something but I didn't hear it all so I looked at her and asked her what she said and she said really quietly and all girly, "Mommy I ate a booger" I started laughing and said ewww you don't do that. I am not perfect with my language, I try to refrain from words I don't want them to repeat, and I slipped by accident the one day, and usually they will tell me no or something for saying it. And they didn't so I didn't think they heard me. Well, apparently they did because my 2 year old dropped her sippy cup and said, "Sh** mommy I dropped my juicey" :O :O I told her we don't say those words, mommy was bad. And I left the room and started laughing my head off, because the little serious look on her face was too funny.  When my husband is being childish and joking around I mess with him and tell him to go home. I told him to go home the one day and my 3 year old walked up to him, mad little face she had on, both hands on her hips, she got the little head roll thing going, and said, "Yeah daddy go home now" I could write all day, they are so funny.

I find this funny, actually!  We had something similar happen in our home, Doozer was very angry with BuggaBoo and was walking around the house with her hands in the air saying, "I'm so frustrated at you!"  She then got in his face and told him, "I piss off at you!"  I seriously left the room to laugh my head off.  I also couldn't get mad at her because, hey, if I didn't want her to say that I would watch my mouth more.

On the other hand, I'm quite glad that she was able to voice that she was frustrated rather than just throwing a fit.  Baby steps!

21 month old DD took a drink from my water bottle and handed it back. I was about to take a swig when she demanded it back so I let her have it. I said to DH "well at least I got to smell it" and he said "at least you know it isn't vodka." DD promptly started chanting "wokka wokka!!" I laughed so hard. Seriously, this is the kid that says "ba" for both grandma and grandpa but comes out with "agillatoh" for alligator and starts chanting vodka the first time she hears it lol.

We were at church yesterday and she asked to go potty. I took her, stripped her diaper off and held her on the toilet and she peed. Then she gave me the biggest grin and said "yummy potty!" I almost fell over laughing!

Little Miss has learned that it's customary to add a "How are you?" after a "Hello!", and does so all day long.  Every time she walks in the room I get an enthusiastic "Hi!  How are you?" from her.  Adorable.

They remind me all the time why I need to watch what I say more. Lol. Kids, never a dull moment haha.
