I've been at MDC for a long time, but mostly as a lurker. I'm finding my normal forum doesn't have a very active adoption/foster thread though, so I thought I'd come over here and check things out.
My husband and I are almost finished with our PATH classes - just 2 more! We'll officially be done on April 8. Right now we are waiting to get our home study set up. We've been busting tail trying to get our house ready--lots of cleaning, rearranging, home improvments, etc. I know we've accomplished a whole lot, but I still feel like there is so much to do! Mostly it's a lot of little stuff, but there are a couple big projects left and I'm feeling stressed and worried that it won't be done in time.
We are hoping to foster anywhere in the 0-11 range, but admit we'd feel most comfortable with the 5-8 range. Young school age.
We don't have any biological children; we are an infertile couple that has very little chance of ever conceiving, even assisted. We decided to go the foster route, originally thinking about foster to adopt... but as we have went through the classes, I think we are more drawn now to the idea of just fostering (but still very open to adoption as well-but if we were to adopt, we'd still want to foster).
So, anyway, that's us!
