All day morning sickness

Ugh!  I am only 6 weeks and I am so sick of being sick already!  I am sick all day, from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to sleep.  Thank goodness for DH, as I spent almost the entire weekend in bed.  While I know what I have is mild, it's still terrible.  I have a hard time taking as long of a shower as I normally would because my legs get all shaky and I need to sit down.  I have constant nausea.  I am not a person who throws up so thankfully none of that but I feel this way 24 hours a day.  The only time it slightly lightens up is after I eat but even that seems to be less and less lately.

This started a few days after I found out so probably 4w4d.  I was not sick one day with my oldest.  Sick a little bit in the early mornings for a few weeks with my second.  Is it because I'm older (30)?  Or because this is pregnancy #4?  Or what??  Sheesh!

Thank you for listening to my complaining if you've made it this far.  I know there is a baby at the end of this tunnel so I try to be positive but holy crap!

Sorry you are so sick. :( Maybe it's a boy??  I just keep telling myself that this too will pass. With my other pregnancies I didn't have other children running around making messes, or with things for me to help them with.  I think that makes it harder.  Deep breath, relax, and jump back into life when you can.  :)

I know exactly how you feel! So sorry you are so sick. I found that my morning/all day sickness starts earlier with each pregnancy (this is my third). I have all day nausea too. No vomiting thus far (thankful for that!) though I feel like I could just about every second of the day. Like you, it lessens slightly during/after eating, but that doesn't last long. I am counting down the days until the end of the first trimester and when I can (hopefully) feel normal again and not sick and weak all the time. It really sucks being at work all day during the week and trying to look like I am not sick all the time when all I want to do is crawl in bed. Anyway, just wanted to let you know you are not alone! We are all in this sicky boat together!

I'm right there with you. I've been nauseous since 3w4d and I'm 8w4d now. It usually dissipates by 9 or 10 weeks, but it is hard when you're taking care of 2 kids and your husband travels 2 weeks a month.

I'm also totally with you. But I will say that you can have some home: mine subsided for a few days around 7 weeks (before coming back nearly as bad as before). I do NOT remember my others being this bad. Maybe it's because I was working (read "distracted") with my others? Anyway, I'm also 8w3-ish days, and am hoping for an early let up... But honestly, as much as I gripe about it, I'm happy to go through it: it is likely my last pregnancy, so I won't be experiencing this much more at all in the scheme of things...

Sorry you are so sick Planegreen. Feel free to come and lament your fate on the HG thread. We love lamenting our fate!

I can't speak to your question about it being a factor of age since I was 29 (and sick!) with my first, but I had a friend who had her babies at 33 and 36 and was never sick a day. I do often shake my fists at teenagers who I always imagine to have smooth, youth-powered perfect pregnancies, but I know mamas of any age get their share of suffering.

When I was pregnant with DS, I mostly only threw up during one particular week (16) when I was having extra emotional stress, but I was ALWAYS nauseated. I often wondered if it would be better/more of a relief to be able to actually throw up. I'm 11 weeks now and having thrown up at least once a day (more espec during weeks 8 and 9) since 5.5 weeks, I can confidently say: no, the non-vomiting was better.

It's strange though, you know, to think of all of us here and the women in all the other DDCs in other online forums and the ones who aren't online and we're all feeling so bad and so weird and unusual and isolated. But we're all doing this at the same time-all the world over. Somewhere, another woman is heaving and having the shakes and not wanting to eat anything...just like you. And maybe a lot of women. We're in this together, even though it doesn't feel like it sometimes. Hope you all feel better soon.

BKGreen - you sound exactly like me!

Crafty - I know I'm not as bad off as those in the HG thread so I try to remind myself of that and reading that thread brings me a tiny bit of comfort in knowing it could be so much worse! :(

Of course then you have days like yesterday where I was so busy I didn't even have time to think about being sick.  Well, except for that 10 minutes I closed my eyes in my office.  Oh and that 15 minutes I laid down at home when I didn't have 15 mins to do so!  In addition to being a wife and mom of 2 girls, I also work FT as a teacher and I coach our HS dance team. Yesterday it was work, practice, performance at a game.  Ugh.... but on the upside I was busy.  Soon I must go eat lunch today or it's going to get real bad real quick!  Best of luck today ladies!

LOL! So true!! Just as we share the experience of birth, we share the experience of heaving and shakes!! Too funny!
