A Little Levity: Pregnancy Humor

I think right now a lot of us are feeling reeeeeeeally miserable and sick. And it seems like with pregnancy, there's always a next hard part (just like being a parent!). What things do you tell yourself or jokes do you make to cheer yourself up about pregnancy? Or what funny things have you done or have happened to you because you're pregnant? Share and spread the laughs here!

I'll start. When it came time to make New Year's Resolutions, I was like well okay- diet and weight loss can go. Sweet! Also, thanks to constant vomiting I've kicked that old pesky 1-cup a day coffee habit. smile.gif

I'm looking forward to being my own TV tray in a few months, too. I call it a self shelf.

Hmm, so far I'm not pulling off any zingers. What do y'all have to say?

I was chuckling to myself as I considered my breakfast options today. One of those, "You know you're pregnant when..." times, when your criteria has to do with what's more pleasant coming back up. lol.gif

I told someone else the other day that I'm *really* enjoying the instant boob job I got.  I'm a tiny gal, so when they start approaching a B cup, I get *super* excited! lol.gif

I bought a new bra yesterday afternoon, and had already out grown it by the evening. I kid you not.

I am naturally well endowed in the boob dept. last preg, I was in a 34f by the end of my preg. Then, nursing, proceeded to jump to letters I didn't previously realize existed. Such as j and k. This time around because my milk supply is decreasing I'm actually getting smaller (read: droopier) as the preg goes on.

I'm getting excited about eventually starting to show because I will no longer have that belly flap of skin from the last pregnancy!

Ooh forgot about that one, yes! I can get excited about filling in that belly flap! Lol

lol.gifHeather, you made me really truly laugh out loud.  And the sudden laughter made me throw up.  orngtongue.gif

Yes! I am looking forward to filling in my belly flap, too. And Heather, I started thinking the same thing. I couldn't eat spaghetti for years after a particularly bad stomach flu and now I don't want to risk a permanent break with it by eating it now. I know I can't keep it!

Lol...definitely on board with filling up my belly flap over here too!

OMG these are hilarious! But alas, the belly flap will then be back when baby is here, and worse than the last time! Yikes! You know you are in your first trimester when you can take two naps in a day and still get to bed early! (it's the weekend with DH here so today I took full advantage!)

You know you are in the first tri when you crave something all day, finally fix a huge helping for yourself, and then need to throw up after two bites.grossedout.gif

I'm up in the middle of the night with DH next to me, snoring. I'm wondering, does he always smell this bad and my senses are normally too dull to notice? Damn! Anyone else have serious issues with SO's smell?

Yup! Me too! Argh, it's unbearable sometimes. I hope this passes quickly!

Here too. And I made him stop drinking wine and beer as it was making Me puke just smelling him.

Oh, that wouldn't go over very well at my house.  lol.gif

I met with some friends last night and one of them was really bothered by the fact that we were meeting at a wine bar because I couldn't enjoy it in my pregnant state.  I told them, it's either I sit with you and watch you drink or I sit at home and watch my husband, it makes no difference to me!

(Plus they had cheese plates that were to die for, so I was one happy camper anyway.)

THIS! I like the way my husband smells most of the time, but one night he'd stayed up watching TV and drinking beer (maybe 3? he wasn't all boozed out or anything, but the smell was SOOO strong) and when he came to bed, I was like uh, no. Other room. Right now. To his credit, he asked no questions and did it. When I am hiding out from smell, DH is very understanding.

When this baby is born, we need a onesie that says "Created with Love and Trader Joe's".  eat.gif

The other day my DD nursed to sleep in my lap and I sneezed and peed myself.  I had to wait until she unlatched and I could put her down to change.   Had to wait 30 minutes or so to change.orngtongue.gif

Lol, I now have a natural reflex to cross my legs and tense my muscles when I am going to sneeze or cough (ever since first birth!).
