Any advice or tips? Midwife suggestions?

Thanks!

My sis had a homebirth midwife in the Bronx, her name was Valeriana. Dont know her last name but I'm sure you could Google it.

Also, I believe many of the hb midwives in the city go outer borough. Maybe it depends how far into the bronx you are.

Oxford is paying for our homebirth in full as long as you get a gap exception or something like that! Good Luck....

I had a homebirth with Valeriana Pasqua-Masbeck.  She is based out of Rockland  County.  So, it is about a 40 minute drive to appointments.  She came for some home visits and I went to her for some.  She is a good person and had experience behind her belt but I missed previous midwives who were in a different state.  I know that the Brooklyn HB midwives are supposed to be great, but don't know if they'd come to you for appointments.

I might try Martha Roth if I could do it all over again in Da Bronx.  Although I just read some bad press about her,b ut I wouldn't let that deter me.  THe network of thinking women have transmitted to me that Martha is simply fabulous.  SHe is based out of Nyack, also in Rockland County, but that isn't that far from the Bronx.

Just don't try looking in Westchester...you will not find a single HB MW there that  I know of!

Good luck!

Highly recommend Valeriana. She takes appointments in Manhattan on Mondays.
