Last CS was an emergency with an Epi, this one was planned with a spinal so now at least I know the difference. For me, I'd go for the spinal each time. It's faster to administer, doesn't need to be removed, and worked much better. With the Epi, I could still move which was creepy for surgery. This time, I was totally numb and then back to normal in about 2.5 hours.
Kinsley entered the world 5 minutes after we rolled into the ER. She's 6lb 10 oz of perfect little girl. She was snuggled and trying nursing withing half an hours and spent a lot of that first day laying skin to skin. She's so much more mellow than my son. Happy to nurse, sleep for longer chunks, and then snuggle and look around. Everything is going smoothly. It's amazing, the difference in my own mood and hormones, not having labored for 40 hours before the CS. I feel like a human!
Best wishing to those still waiting to meet their babes. It is so worth the wait
