Or it would remind her of something that happened in labor, even if not exactly the same. I wonder if that's pretty typical. smile.gif

Makes so much sense. I am definitely noticing that. Perhaps it's because I'm thinking about it more as a "what will happen" instead of a "what I went through" mode.

I think my daughter is looking forward to helping and holding the baby. I don't believe she is disturbed about anything, mostly because I think she has no idea how life is going to change. She keeps sneaking the baby cloths out and trying them on her doll. Then she carries the doll around and tries to swaddle it.

My son, on the other hand, is sad that baby isn't a boy. I don't think he understands how long it will be before baby can "play" with him. He made the comment when we found out that this one was a girl, "She won't want to play trains with me." I think he thinks baby will walk out and act like a 5 year old. He can play with his wooden trains with his cousin, so I think that is what he expects.

I think a lot of my daughter's excitement has a lot to do with her personality and willingness to embrace life, diving into everything head first with a smile. I don't think she even thinks about the negative side of how her life will change. I wish I had half of her optimism about life.
