(sorry about all the weird font stuff above - copy/paste apparently doesn't work so well!)

So I saw my chiropractor yesterday for my pubic symphysis pain.  A five minute adjustment completely took the pain away!  YAY!

She said she could tell my pelvis was shifted forward and to the right and she used the "activator" over the bone to sift it back and then she adjusted the rest of my spine, too.   She said I may "slip back" out of place quickly because of the relaxin hormone, but at least for now I am pain free.  :)

Yeay, Chapsie!!! :D  So glad that worked for you.  I need to make an appt soon.  :D

chocolatechip, I had a similar experience with figure skating, so I'm VERY aware of how competitive kids' sport can get - and I don't want my DD anywhere near that sort of thing!  But non-competitive synchro swimming was great.

Melany, do you know any other people who typically work from home, whom you could work WITH at a coffee shop (or at least at the same table)?  I can see how it would be kind of awesome but also really, really annoying when you have to pee.

My rest day was a Very Good Thing.  I feel SO much better today.  I even slept pretty well last night - totally log-like between 1 am and 5:30, woke up thinking "wow I can't believe that much time has passed" and my mental outlook is so much more positive today.  I think I just didn't realize how run-down I'd been getting.

My 2 year old does the same thing! I find it cute until about the 5th "kiss" lol

Is it weird that I love cutting baby/todder nails? I was terrified at first with DS, but now I'm all for it.

Scruffy, I'm jealous of the snow. However 10 inches is no fun. Nothing worse than having to dig out your car!!

Had my last growth u/s yesterday (woo hoo!). I love getting to see the babies, but I'm not a fan of so many u/s or laying on my back for that long. Both kiddos look great and are measuring exactly the same (3lb 15 oz). Baby A (DS2) was head down, just like I needed (for my own sanity). I am still super freaked out that he is going to flip back to breech and I honestly have no way to tell how he is laying in there- way too much movement between them. I keep getting told "if he isn't vertex by 32-33 weeks, there isn't much chance he will turn. However, when I asked the MFM doctor yesterday he basically told me that there was no way he could tell me how likely it was that he would stay head down greensad.gif

Baby B (DD) has her shoulder in my ribcage. And it HURTS. And it makes my back hurt so bad. Not looking forward to this pain for the next few weeks.
I can't believe that we are so close to the end. And I can't wait to see all of our little munchkins!!!!

I haven't been active on the chat thread in a while, but I have noticed that I haven't seen Granola posting lately. Anyone know where she went? shrug.gif

I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I've been coming home after dropping my daughter off at school (on days I don't have any out-of-the-house chores to fulfill) and taking a nice, long, 2-3 hour nap. XD I'm still petering out fairly early in the evening, but I feel relaxed and refreshed for most of the day between nap and bedtime.

I totally forgot to mention earlier this week that I saw the tiniest full-term baby I've ever seen, on Monday. He was something like 5 lb 3 oz at birth. He looked like a wizened old man with all his wrinkles, as if he had yet to grow into his skin. He was so sweet. I can't imagine having to handle one that small, though. I'd be afraid of breaking him.

Oh my goodness Cabbitdancer, I can't imagine a little 5 pounder -- so tiny!!! I had my 33 week appointment today and the midwife guessed that my baby is CURRENTLY about 5 pounds. I freaked a little when I realized that I have one more appointment with her before my home visit, then I'll be in the clear to have a homebirth shortly after that. YIKES yikes2.gif - I need to get my butt in gear and buy the birth kit and other odds and ends. Before I know it it'll be time to wash some tiny clothes and diapers and get them all tucked away in their drawers, ready to be used.  EEK!

Yesterday, DD and I needed a diversion so we brought up the baby hammock from the basement and assembled it. She LOVES assembling furniture! For the time being, it's a sweet spot for her stuffed animals to rest. I figure it'll be a good idea to introduce the baby stuff gradually in coming weeks, rather than just letting it all burst onto the scene at once. I really only need to assemble the cosleeper now (then gather and organize countless smaller odds and ends).

I'm still trying to decide whether to buy any new baby stuff, and if yes, then what to get. There are some things that would be nice to have, but none of it is essential (like a swing, or a new ring sling, or a diaper sprayer). I have such a hard time letting myself purchase splurgey things!

The only other exciting news around here is that DD does not have chicken pox, despite being exposed just after the holidays. My mom came down with the shingles during the last couple of days of our holiday trip together, but it wasn't diagnosed till after she was back home. I was convinced that DD would catch the pox, but amazingly, we've got nothing and we just passed the 21 day mark (I'm told that's the longest possible incubation period). I think I'm relieved (though it would have been nice, in a way, for her to get it over with).

Cabbit, my cousin was born just after my DD1.  She was a healthy, full term 5 lber.  DD1 was 9 lb, 9 oz.  When I held my cousin, I felt like I was holding a half a baby!

LightForest- I still have soooooo much to do!!! I am going to make a to do list tonight.  I can't decide how much new I should buy for the "just in case I have a boy." I have very little gender neutral clothes for a newborn.

WLL-  It is weird that you like cutting nails... But you are not alone in you weirdness.  I like cutting nails, too.  I actually get disappointed when DH cuts one of the kids nails and I don't get to. bag.gif

I miss Granolamama, too.  I pm'd her about the bead swap and she responded that she had some stuff going on....  I pm'd again and haven't heard back.  I certainly hope all is ok with her.

We are thinking about you, Granolamama!!!!

I see some of you are missing granolamama, does anyone also miss linnaea? winky.gif. Well, this is she. I'm sorry I havent posted in a few months, I got locked out of my account due to speaking up about hypocrisy. I find it ironic how "progressive" the nature of this site appears to be and yet a person cant mention anything that seems rigid and harmful. I was very upset for awhile, I couldnt even open any of my mail. So I missed the birth bead swap which is sad but I still come here sometimes to see how you all are doing. I might get banned again due to mentioning who I am, so be it, you cant help those who dont want to be helped. I just wanted you all to know that I'm thinking of you, you're in my hearts, and I wish for you all to have joyful births and healthy babies.

I am doing pretty well, this pregnancy is going smoothly. He/she seems to be nestled towards my back, I feel a lot of kicking in my back which surprises me every time. I am looking forward to finally getting to meet this little miracle, it feels like I've been waiting forever.

That is so bogus sunshine. I hope you don't get locked out, again! We miss you, too!! Glad to hear that the pregnancy is going well. Hoping you can stick around so we can share the rest of the pregnancy with you!

sunshine!!! I PM'd you about the birth bread swap.  I was quite surprised when I didn't hear back from you.  Now it all makes sense.  I have a package for you!!! You are such an important member of this DDC.  I am sure that all of the women who participated would LOVE for you to have a token of our support.  I will PM you again to exchange details about that!  So happy you are ok. hug2.gif

I totally know what you mean about the "just in case this one's a boy" issue. I didn't have much stuff to begin with from DD, and once I went through it I realized that a ton of the clothes that I have for her are totally wrong seasonally (she was born during a very hot summer). With this in mind, I've been stalking the clearance racks to pick up a few more long sleeve shirts, pants, and socks (things that DD didn't ever need in newborn size). I still don't have a ton of stuff, but I have enough.

I've found some gorgeous gender neutral stuff (organic cotton no less) on super clearance at H&M lately. If you have one in your area it may be worth a shot.

Thanks for the tip!  I'll have to take a look next time I am at the mall! :D

I just told my daughter, as I was putting her to bed (after coming to the realization myself) that her sister should be here in about two months. We passed the two month mark to me EDD, yesterday. I AM SO NOT READY!

I spoke with my friend of a friend, today, about the diapers she has. I won't have to worry about getting prefolds, which is so exciting to me, though goodness knows why. I am a little worried about my daughter's stuff being seasonally appropriate. She was born at the tail end of summer, so we'll have enough stuff to get us through spring, I think, but summer is going to be interesting. I really need to go through all that and... gah! I have no where to put it, yet!

I cannot sleep. I am having significant hip pains. :(

My son was only 5 lbs 7 oz at birth and when we had latch issues, he actually got down to 4lbs 0oz 2 weeks after birth. It was scary small and we really had no idea what we were doing.

I have a photo of him, he barely was as long as your arm. This is before the weight drop.

<a href="http://smg.beta.photobucket.com/user/melany/media/InHospitalSm.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v149/melany/InHospitalSm.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo InHospitalSm.jpg"/></a>

My daughter was 8 lbs 9 oz and I hope this baby is somewhere in between. :)

I had my MW check-up last night and that went well. I asked her about preventative methods for the GBS test. In all reality, the check is mostly in place for if I am transferred or if my water breaks really early. The IV is one of my major hang-ups from the hospital birth and I'd like to do everything I can to avoid any need for that. She suggested some things I've read on here and that test will be around 35 weeks. She also told me it would be done by me. She suggested sea salt baths with tea tree oil, pro-biotics and then the garlic on a string. She mentioned you don't need to do too much of that. So, I'm going to try, but not daily garlic and if it comes up positive, I'll insist on a retest after daily garlic.
I did talk to the MW about acupuncture for my back/hip pain. Since she does her long distance appointments at a naturopathic doctor's, she had some patients use her for accupuncture. My only complaint is she uses the office when the naturopath is closed, I wish I could schedule one visit and then the other since it's an hour drive. :)

I got side-tracked by The leaky boob site on the "feeding the freezer" thread and opted not to derail that great discussion about food.

Thanks, WLL!

I was looking through the leaky boob FB page and had to stop because it made me sad. The photos taken down by FB and then the woman who was harassed by the TSA for trying to bring home breast milk. As a working mom this one REALLY hit home. Actually motivated me to open a white house petition (which I've never done before in my life) because a friend's daughter was felt-up by the TSA agent for no reason.

Feel free to share this and sign if you agree.

My DH "won't let us fly" for this very reason.  He says if a stranger "needed" to touch his kid, he'd sooner leave than let that happen.  Which would mean missing out on our flight, vacation and any money we had spent on it!

That's so sad. But, luckily there are so many driving vacation options.
