Birth bead swap, anyone! - Page 3

Need to go buy mine, hopefully today! I found a cute local bead shop right next to the new maternity clothes shop near my OB, so I'll try and hit it on the way back to work. I'll include a peel off label with my address and the same postage I use to send in with the beads and I'll see if I can think of something inspiring to write smile.gif

sounds like a great neighborhood!

I'm planning to go buy mine on Monday - I'm off work but DH isn't so I can take my time and not feel a need to get home :)

Ooh!  I need to get on this.  I'll try to get some this weekend...

I still have to get mine.  We're headed out of town to visit family for a week soonish, so I may find some while I'm there, but I won't be able to mail them in till probably the first week in March.  Is that okay??

Such a wonderful idea!

Is there any input on size of beads?

I went with bigger ones with a good sized hole to give folks more options to thread them, not sure what everyone else is doing!

This is April's thread. There's a nice picture of a necklace someone put together from a bead swap. They are different sizes but "necklace size." I thought about doing maybe a small circle of tiny beads to act as one unit. Do something that symbolizes something for you. The main idea is that everybody gets to share your thoughtfulness, and your love symbolized by the beads.

Got my beads...now to write the note :)

Mine are a bit more eclectic than the ones in the example. Hope that is okay!

Ooh, pretty!  And thanks, that answers my question about size.

Mine are as well, so at least yours won't be the only ones smile.gif

I like eclectic, can't wait to see what everyone sends!

I just got mine, I'm so excited to send them. I'm a little confused about what else to send though. 13 notes, beads and what size envelope? Are we sending money too? Stamps?

Thanks

So here's what I was envisioning. Get a bubble or padded envelope or 6"x9"or so. Put beads in, notes if you want to. Put your address on it and stamp it with as much value as you sent it to me for. Leave it unsealed. Put that envelope in a larger paper envelope 9x12 yellow ones are common. Address this one to me. This way the padded envelope gets used twice and nothing pops out. If you send stamped envelope no money is necessary.

My beads are going off tomorrow.  My apologies to anyone who can't read their card.  My rheumatoid arthritis is playing havok on my hands and other joints which makes doing anything with my hands more difficult.  I will write out the inscription in the spoiler below.

Yay, yay, yay! First beads came in today. So sweet too. I did shed a tear. Thank you JacquelineJ.

So JacquelineJ said I could share this with you. She tied each bead to a special tag with her note on one side and some pretties on the other. Postage was about $2 each way.

I'm inspired. Time to start mine!

Super psyched. Love the first ones. Mine should arrive via snailmail any day now, and then I'll pretty 'em up and send 'em on out  ;)

Is it too late? I am hovering between May and June, but would love to do both if this is still open
