Best remedies for Mastitis

Ug, mastitis and DD is 22 months!  I'm through the awful first 36 hours and did start an antibiotic as my usual homeopathic remedies and massage didn't stop things in time.  Now having continued back strain and significant pain in the affected breast. I'm using a comb to gently comb my breast and massaging.  Using warm rice sock.  I'm breastfeeding as often as a 22mo will breastfeed, massaging and combing in a hot shower, resting.  Still, the large, hard lump doesn't seem to be getting any smaller and pain has increased today. Wondering what you found to be the best remedy or help for blocked ducts/mastitis.  Thanks!

yep.nursed often and massage. how is it now?

Thanks for the reply--I added an essential oil massage and continued combing etc.  It took longer than the last time with mastitis but the lump finally cleared!

I found that BF in a completely different way really helped my severe plugged duct.... My suggestion... place baby on the bed, go on all fours overtop of babe and let your breast hang down over babe to then nurse.  I did this after having a hot shower and releasing some on my own and found it helped a lot! 

Good luck, it is quite a painful and uncomfortable situation to be in!! Speedy recovery!
