This is for my own peace of mind.  After losing so many babies I have a major NEED to hear baby is ok :) I'm so excited to get it!!

I hope it arrives quickly!  Peace of mind can be worth it's weight in gold!

Well, I borrowed one from a friend for my pregnancy with our 4 year old because he was the 1st one I carried past 8 weeks after K passed away at 38w.  The with our 2 year old I didn't bother buying one because I just felt ok that we wouldn't lose another baby after the 1st tri.  Then when I got pregnant with O and he died at 18w it made me feel like there's simply NO safe time in pregnancy where I can just trust that the baby will live.  With both K and O I KNEW they had passed before I even went to the hospital (don't know how I knew) and using a doppler daily will at least let me know there's a living baby in there.  I wish that I could experience the innocence of pregnancy again and enjoy it :(

You've been through so much.  :(  While I cannot possibly understand what you have been through, I miscarried my first pregnancy (at work, no less) and feel so jealous of the women who can take it for granted that there will be a baby at the end.  I just keep telling myself that nothing that is meant for you will ever pass you by.  It's not a philosophy that works for everyone, but it helps me calm my spasming nerves.

I was so hesitant to buy a doppler after hearing so much negativity about the use of them. However, I researched and researched and came to the conclusion that the amount of stress reduction it provides for me, along with an opportunity to bond is SO, so worth it. I'm so very grateful for my doppler - it's given me peace of mind and really helped my mental health.

We all have different ways of managing our pregnancies and I support women all over the board in my doula practice. Doppler use is a wonderful tool for many mamas! I hope you find the relief it can bring. :)

I was under the assumption that since I've made it this far (17 weeks, 4 days) that everything would be 'ok' from here on out.  I got to hear the heart beat at my appt last week and it was strong and 145.  But then I keep reading stories about fetal demise up until 38 weeks and now I'm worried.  Since I'm still not feeling movement, I would have more peace of mind if I could check with a doppler occasionally.  How much did it cost?  Any recommendations for brands, etc?

I have the Sonoline B - got it off of eBay for around $50. It works wonderfully - I found the heartbeat at 8 weeks on the dot, no joke!

That's the same one I bought, and it came yesterday :)

We found it right away yesterday but baby was laying in a different spot this morning so it took me longer to find him, but I did THANK GOD!!  I'm really starting to freak out'.  18w is approaching quickly and that's when Oliver died and it's really leaving me feeling like my body is broken and this little one will die too :(

I'm not trying to be debbie downer but we lost one just before birth in 2006 at 38w and then another in Jan 2012 at 18w on the dot.  I personally just don't feel like there's any SAFE zone other than in my arms :(

Oh Tenk,  this really scares me....  that must have been excruciating for you to go through!  I can only hope that healthy pregnancies and deliveries of healthy babies progress for all of us.
