Restrictions?

Hello all!  I just joined yesterday - a 30 year old first-time expectant mother due in late July/early August.

This site seems great, but I have a couple questions.  There are still some things I am not "allowed" to do.  I am not permitted to send private messages, some of my forum comments (though not all) are still invisible for some reason, my profile is still mostly hidden until I am "active on the forums" (which I have been already, plenty), and I cannot "thumbs-up" anyone's posts.  I know that I just joined yesterday, but given that I've never encountered these restrictions on other sites I've joined I am not sure what to think.  Is there something that I personally have to do?  Or just wait it out?  Has anyone else encountered this, and if so how long does it take until the restrictions wear off, so to speak?

Welcome to MDC, Xobel!  Yes, usually if you are a new member it takes the system a little while to "trust" you.  I'll go ahead and take care of that for you.

It should be taken care of.  Just let me know if you have any other problems.  :)

Thank you!  Yes, everything looks fine now!  I am sorry - I didn't mean to start off my time here with a complaint.  I just have a friend on here already and was kind of upset that I couldn't send her a message to show that I'd taken her advice and joined the site.  On one hand, I am quite pleased that you guys are kind of sticklers about this sort of thing.  The internet can be a messy place.  I fully understand.

Yes, please contact your midwife or OB/GYN.  I know people who have had this happen and have to go on bed rest for a little while and were fine, but you need to be checked out.

This is something that you need to call your midwife or doctor about.
