hello! new to everything!

Hey! I've been hanging around for awhile, but only have internet on my phone, so it has really kept me from becoming involved!

Im 21 years old, DP 24. EDD is march 26th.

We are planning an UC and using the Hypnobabies Home Study course.

Stopped prenatal care with our midwife about a month or more ago, just in time to not take the.glucose test! I follow a vegan diet, and the idea of that particular test was a real turn off. (not the reason i quit prenatal appts, just as a sidenote!)

This pregnancy was a surprise, which also meant that i was a bit oblivious to this whole world of pregnancy, birth, and motherhood! Ive really had to educate myself a lot in a short time, and i feel like these forums have been a great stepping stone for a first timer!

Hmm.. My pregnancy has been a pretty wild whirlwind of emotions! Since entering the third trimester, i feel as moody and tearful as the firstweeks of pregnancy. My poor DP deserves a badge for handling my tears from ridiculous scenarios (like when he told me he didnt really like canned tomatoes when i was making dinner). I dont think i could handle someone else as emotional as me!

Anyway, just thought id introduce myself smile.gif.

Hi lmnopxz!!

Welcome to our little corner of MDC...

Just out of curiosity, why did you decide to stop seeing your midwife? I am glad that we have been able to help you with all of the amazing newness that come with a first pregnancy. I think its awesome that you have educated yourself about pregnancy and childbirth, so many people "blindly" follow their providers and do not ever stop to ask questions.

Hope to see more of you!

I stopped seeing the midwife because it fely so pointless! She was a nice woman, but i never knew how to feel confortable with her and how to achieve the relationship id read about or heatd about. She worked out of an OBs office, and though its my first pregnancy, i felt like it was no different than having a Doc. Which i dont want, because im healthy!

I initially continued my appts because it felt like what i was supposed to do. What my mother expected, friends, coworkers... Yknow what i mean? But after my anatomy US, i really felt comfortable enough without a medical aide. But i havent told anyone i stopped prenatal care, except for the people in my life who are supportive. Ive been honest about a UC, but i really think itd be stressful for me to stress out my extended family and friends! Because my mom is not afraid to give her opinion!
