I was sobbing! smile.gif

Can you share what you used to string them? I have some supplies, but an not sure what would work best...

I am excited to show off my necklace, too.  I am putting all the notes in a early labor book to read over.  :)  So happy people are getting their packages.

Yes, this was a tough decision! There are so many different options! Even though we all have the same beads, I'm sure we will all have very different necklaces. I was going to just use wire from the jewelry section at the craft store (some of the holes on the beads are pretty narrow to string with twine or hemp). But then I found some white string that I got at ikea years ago (it is like a coated smooth twine/cord that I use for wrapping presents). I decided to knot the cord in between each bead to space them out and for the beads that were too narrow-holed to be threaded directly onto the cord, I used a bit of jewelry wire to string it vertically and individually onto the cord. I don't know if that made much sense or not to you! It turned out really neat and i am so pleased with it.

I'd love to show you a picture... What's the group consensus? Can we show off our necklaces now for inspiration purposes or should we wait until you have all been able to open your packages?

I went to bed last night, and started reading up on what was going on on here, than I read that everyone was getting their beads! I immediately jumped out of bed threw on some shorts and ran to the mail box!! Haha!! I never grabbed the mail yesterday and I had to go get it and see if mine came... DP was still on his computer when I came down and started yanking my boots on, he was like "What on earth are you doing?" looking at me like I had six heads. "My beads might be here!" but he still didn't know what I was talking about.

THEY CAME!!!

I sat down on the floor near DP and started going through all the beads, and explaining what we were doing. He read some of the notes and thought we were all super cool and thoughtful for doing this! I got pretty choked up reading the notes, and words of encouragement. I feel so much closer to everyone, and so glad I am taking this journey with you all!

Chapsie I love how you did your necklace. I was also thinking of a way to space out the beads. I think I am taking a trip to Michaels today!

Yay!! You all are sooooo lovely!!

Babytoes! What a cute story! I love your excitement!

I did a google search for birth bead necklace and found some wonderfully inspiring images. Some ladies just bought some small plain beads to space their birth special beads with and I like that look a lot. I do like how sturdy the knotting method made my necklace though-- if a baby pulls on it hard enough to break, none of the beads will fall off. smile.gif

Google!! Of course!! duh.gif

I am going to go get some inspiration, and yes, I am very excited! This whole idea is such a great way to remember our pregnancies and births... And I hope we all continue to hang out on here even after our babies come.

I so wish I had done this with my last pregnancies.  This has been such a special journey with all of you!

Babytoes - you had me laughing!!  I'm glad your night run wasn't in vain!!

I'm going to try and resist looking at what others have done with their beads until I get mine...  "try"...

I, too, was thinking of using beads to space them out, but we'll have to see what I think when they arrive.

Oh, I'm just so freaking excited!!!!
