Farmermomma - We had a lastminute boat trip with DD this last summer and I put on a sports bra under my suit because at the time DD was obsessed with boobs. We were on BIL boat with his roommates so I didn't feel like having to play defense for my boobs the whole time. haha.

Lol ~ I bathe with DS and went through a stretch of having to wear a sportsbra in the tub because otherwise DS would want to nurse and be insistent on it to the point I'd have to get out of the tub!

Ok, with all of your comments I think I'll just bring my bikini on this trip.  I'm with you other mamas on loving having enough up top to fill the bikini up, but better check to make sure that it won't be a "the cups over-flowith" type situation!  I am up 2 cup sizes after all...

Scary Biscuits, I'm sorry that things are so complicated.  I really admire your tenacity under challenging circumstances.

Bailey, I hope you are not down for the count too long!  Maybe you can kick the sickness before it gets too far!

All this boob talk is cracking me up!  I was in a dressing room trying on a bra today when DD1 looked up and declared, "Mommy, you're neenees look like they are FULL of milk!"

We had to take a friend to the airport today and DH took DD2 so I got to go out afterwards with DD1.  It was really fun!  She cracks me up!  We went to Whole Foods and got gelato and sorbetto (she can't have cow dairy) and sat at the bar and chatted.  Then she wanted to look around the store.  She sampled and picked out some goat cheese at the cheese counter and we examined all the crab, oysters and clams and smelled all the flowers.  It was a fun sweet time that I am thankful for.  We had some really challenging and discouraging times with her and so fun to enjoy her now!

We stopped at a maternity store and I was given a pair of bamboobies to try.   They actually seem really great and the heart shape makes sense for not showing.  Has anyone ever tried them?  I made some cloth nursing pads last time and they worked for around the house showed too much to wear anywhere.

I am looking forward to a hopefully low-key day tomorrow with DH home.  We have a sledding bday party and our small group get together on Saturday so it will be a fun but long day!

AmandaLynnH, glad the gender disappointment is going away for you, it took me some time with DD too even though I mostly wanted a girl. So glad I have a girl and a boy this time so I am happy smile.gif

CoBaby, sure I'll post pictures of them when I get a chance, they really turned out nice! I washed them last night as I am all about getting things ready right now, even if I decide to wash them again, I like to do an initial wash of things to get the bulk of the smells/whatever out of them. I have really sensitive skin to new clothes myself and usually babies do too!

The boob talk is making me laugh too, DD has been more interested in mine lately I think because they are so big again. She's back to trying to pull my shirt down to look at them, luckily she usually only does that when we are home. It's going to be interesting when I am BFing! She is weaned (~19 months), but she is definitely curious about all body parts right now, especially ones that are different from hers, so we've had some amusing conversations about how she will get boobs and body hair as she gets bigger! She's also been talking about her brother and sister a lot and has started getting into tickling, hugging and kissing the babies (my tummy). I also ate a piece of cheese she didn't want the other day and then she (of course) got upset after I ate it so I said "It's already in my tummy!" and she then announced that the babies were eating it and was happy again. So cute hearts.gif

Took DD to the doctor yesterday as she has been so congested and was running a low grade fever on and off figured she might have something more than just a cold or had gotten an ear infection by now. Well, she does have an ear infection, so got antibiotics for that, glad we went in! Otherwise she is fine though, so that's good, just a cold or whatever for the rest. She did NOT want to go to daycare today which is unusual. At least it is the weekend so I'm hoping she'll be back to normal on Monday, poor girl!

DH found out he is getting a promotion, significant pay raise and nice bonus this year, so we are very excited. He was not expecting it at all, but I'm not that surprised as he was getting really frustrated with them last year and seriously considering quitting (and finally told them that) and they really don't want him to. So we've decided to redo the kitchen, put in a bay window to replace a regular window (will be nice in general and we want a place to put some herbs and plants inside) and change out the rest of our cheap starter-house doors for solid wood 6-panel doors (we did the first floor last year when we redid the bathrooms). Even with all that, we'll still have some money to put away in savings for my maternity leave and whatnot. It will be nice for us while we are in the house for the next 2-3 years (or maybe longer who knows as DH said he doesn't mind moving while DD is still in elementary school if the timing works out better) and will help sell it faster when we do move to a bigger house. But I told DH we have to get it done before the babies arrive or it isn't going to happen for awhile, he's on board with that so I'm going to call up the folks who did our bathrooms and get them back out soon.

Congrats Quinalla! Sorry about DD's ear infection.

Cobaby I wonder if I have stopped the cold that was coming on already. I took a packet of emergen-c (which I am not obsessed with!) yesterday morning and it seems to be barely noticable today. Hopefully no surprise attacks from it later on.

This baby is going to grow up to be a shopper for sure! I have been so into stuff this pregnancy, from holidays to baby stuff, and normal I strongly dislike having too much stuff. I am looking into double strollers today online. We don't need anything too heavy duty, just something to get us through a year I think. When baby is a year DD will be a little over 3 and I would just rather get more of a nice wagon to pull them in when we are out in our yard or I can push the baby in a single umbrella stroller and DD can ride her bike, etc. I was looking at one on target.com and there was one on the side bar that was for triplets for $999.99!!! $1,000 for a stroller yikes!! That better do night feedings and change diapers too! I feel bad for being so impatient yet excited for baby to get here. I think maybe my pregnancy years are waning and I am just ready for the rest of childrearing to come. I really hope baby doesn't need too much or any, really, hospital trips or NICU stays etc because I just can't wait to be out and about this Spring and Summer with the 2 girls. love.gif So far baby seems fine. I have declined most of their extra monitoring because of the 2 hour round trip drive and they don't allow kids at the appts so finding care for DD without freaking out grandma (when it may be for no true reason) was more negative excitement and drama that I am willing to do for the next 4 months. Plus, the monitoring was just more to look and watch progress rather than look for anything that we can do anything about or prevent. I have still been doing my own basic prenatal checks at home with doppler and checking fundal height and my own BP and I have a regular OB check up with our family doc/OB the first week of Feb. I am hoping to only have one more appt with the perinatalogist around 36-37 weeks so we can know the best place to deliver based on that U/S. I told DH that they are going to have to really convince me to deliver an hour away unless it is obviously necessary. I really don't like the idea of being in labor in the car for an hour  and then trying to find parking and whatnot and I am not interested in being induced (again) just to have everything scheduled and easier logistically. I don't know what has come over me with this pregnancy because I am usually so "it's all about having a healthy baby and not how it gets here" but I seem to have a set L&D in my mind this time. I kind of feel bad for the doctors because I am usually so agreeable with what they think is best and I will probably seem like a huge pain in the ass patient this time. Oh well...

Apparently I have had too much coffee this morning because I think I just unloaded all my thought in one post. haha. That's what DDC's are for right? lol. I think I need some solid food!

CBM - what a sweet time you had with DD1, that is awesome! The bamboobies look cool, pads were essential for me in the early days, and soft is key!

Katie - congrats on DH's good fortune! Renovations will be awesome once they are done, good luck getting it all going.

Bailey - yes, that's what DDCs are for! Awesome that you are as in-tune as you are and following your intuition, you will be happier for it.

So happy its Friday! Going to dinner at another couple's house tonight who just found out they are expecting their first, so that should be fun. I think I am going to give them all my old issues of Mothering. Hoping to make more progress with some of the piles that resulted from last weekend's office transition to baby room purge. Also need to make myself sit down and think about baby gear and make that registry/wish list grow (I think I was able to add 2 things in my initial sit with it). AND, its a 3 day weekend, yippee!! We all have Monday off, so it will be awesome to have another day of not working.

Hope you all have great ones and the sickness goes/stays away!

Co, sounds like you had a nice little mommy daughter date.  orngbiggrin.gif  Those are special times.  I am curious about the bamboosies!  They look nice and are so soft.  I don't know if they'd be enough for me in the early days though.  Maybe when this babe is older (like 6 mos).  I had MAJOR leakage the first time (I would soak through disposable pads) on one side when nursing from the other (crazy let-down) or if my milk randomly let down on it's own.  As much as I prefer cloth anything to disposable, I may need the disposable ones this go around too just to save myself from milk stains and embarassment!

Katie, congrats on your DHs promotion and raise!  How exciting!  And just in time for the new babes too.

Bailey, a $1000 stroller is pricey!  Have you checked Craigslist/Kijiji for something you might like?  You can probably re-sell what you buy on CL for almost the same price as you pay for it in a year when you are done with it (I love kijiji).

Sheryl, I'm glad it's the weekend too!!  I had the day off today and love my 3 day weekends when I have them.  Dinner sounds like it will be fun.  I'm sure your friend will be excited to hear about your pregnancy experiences.

Well, nothing too exciting planned over here.  Tonight we're going to continue painting in the new playroom/former office.  I think we can get the second coat on the trim done tonight, and with luck get two coats up on the walls this weekend and be done! (depends how long it takes to tape...there's a lot of trim in that room to tape before painting the main wall color).  Otherwise, we have a b-day party for a friend's son tomorrow who is turning 2.  It should be pretty casual as it's just at our friend's house and it will be good to catch up with the group of friends who will be there.  We aren't super tight with them, and usually see them mostly in the summer on camping trips, but it's a fun group and it'll be nice to catch up.  Otherwise I think I have housework and grocery shopping planned for the weekend.  Ah, the rock star life I lead!  Wouldn't trade it for the world though! love.gif

Happy Friday all!

had tonnes of snow so been housebound (south west england + Snow = NOTHING WORKS!!!) is quite dangerous goin out in my chair in the snow and my p.a got snowed in (apparently) luckily bf  came round the night the snow came (he got here at midnight, snow came at 3am..)  so i havent been totally stuck.. things with bf are a bit all over the place atm tho so its been a pretty stressful weekend, i just dont know whats best.. so tired

Sorry about being stuck Times. DH's cousin is in a wheelchair and lives where there is a lot of snow part of the year and she is always saying how lazy everybody is about clearing their walks and that it really is a safety thing for her. Today it is about 40 degrees F but is suppose to drop about 45 degrees in the next 2 days!

Farmermomma - sorry about the car. getting something new and different is fun but car shopping can be stressful. So much money and uncertainty!

I can't believe it is Saturday already! Where did the week go?!

Lastnite I was feeling super restless being in the house and kind of bored of winter so I got the idea to go on a 3 day trip with DD. Like a mommy daughter bonding thing before baby comes. DH was not so supportive of us driving when I am "so pregnant" but I feel like if I wait any longer to go I really will be too pregnant to go. We are going about 4 hours away to a nice hotel just to hangout at the pool and be out in the wilderness, just kind of a change of scenery thing. He finally said he would "let me" go. Gee, thanks dad!  shrug.gif

BaileyB, So pregnant? Geez overreact much DH! Though my DH has been giving me grief anytime I lift anything, so I can't really talk, and I am not lifting anything heavy.

Timesway, sorry you are stuck and feeling tired. We lucked out with a nice warm day today, about 55F, and tomorrow will still be mid-40s, hilbut back to cold on Monday.

Spent my gift card at Motherhood today while DD napped. Got a maternity support belt, some nursing bras (stretchy ones), a nightgown, two pairs of leggings, two casual dresses, lightweight pants, capris and a tank top, most were on sale. I wanted at least one more Longsleeve shirt, but couldn't find any I liked. Got everything else I wanted though! Got more organizing done today and we bought paint so DH will be painting in the next week or so.

I know it is Sunday night and not the best time to post since we have the new thread tomorrow but I am going to post while everything is on the top of my head and before I get to busy tomorrow.

I'm so excited! Although I did cancel me and DD's little vacation DH and I decided to upgrade our tech situation at home. We currently have a desktop and two old flip phones for cellphones and satellite internet. I knew we would be upgrading sometime early this Spring since our phone contracts would be up so I went to look at the actual upgrade date and it is 3 weeks! We are each getting a smartphone, Casio G'zone Commando for DH and the brand-spanking new Samsung Galaxy S3 for me, plus a tablet and wireless internet! Woohoo. Also, DH's parents are farmers and their financial/tax guy says they need to reinvest some money into their farm for tax purposes and they decided to get a new Polaris Ranger, which is like a combination of a small pickup truck and an ATV. Well, they also just decided to fix up their old one and give it to us for nothing jaw.gif. Ummm...yeah, I will take a free ATV!

Also, the last exciting news for the day is that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel of DD's sleep issues and sickness and crappy attitude. (I hope!!!) She slept all night last nite, woke up twice to fuss but fell back to sleep on her own without needing either of us and about halfway through the day today the last of her cold seemed to disappear into thin air. It's like, oh there's my child, her evil twin must have left.

Hopefully this is all a reward for something I have done right lately and not the calm-before-the-storm situation. I tend to have an either or situation that reoccurs. praying.gif You reap what you sew so now I just have to try and think of what good things I have sewn to get such a good harvest! thumb.gif

Yay Bailey for all good news. Wish I could say the same but my cold from before Xmas that I kept thinking I was almost over came back with a vengeance. Argh. Must keep blowing my nose. So hard to sleep. Could the sudden heat spike be to blame?

Some good news : my friend who has been helping me shop for a car bought a car for his not yet driving teenagers. It's cheap and I could buy it or borrow it if my car totally bites it before I get another one.

Gonna try a local once a week homeschool co-op for my 5 year old. Wish us luck. It's the only homeschool thing close by.

My mom finished her radiation treatments for a tumor in her brain. She has had only minor side effects.

Still having lots of frustration with my boyfriend's emotional distance and communication efforts. Working harder to rekindle some other friendships though. Feeling the baby move lots too and that's really awesome.

Oh yeah not all good news huh bailey? Sorry the dd trip didn't work out. I keep thinking about a trip w my son but need a good car and I keep signing him up for classes.
