Any first-time moms-to-be due in September? - Page 2

First timer here too. :) While in Ireland last summer my husband & I decided "what the hell" and spontaneously tried 3 times. Got pregnant immediately which was a shock, even bigger shock was when we miscarried at 7.5 weeks (August). I waited one cycle before trying again, then got a BFP in Dec, which also ended in early m/c (4.5 weeks). A couple weeks and some blood work later, discovered I have the MTHFR homozygous c677t mutation, which interferes w/ my body's ability to absorb folic acid/B vitamins and can cause blood clotting. I immediately started taking more vitamins that were easier for my body to absorb, and was shocked again a week later to see another BFP (two months in a row). I began taking progesterone suppositories, baby aspirin and nightly Lovenox injections to thin my blood. We're at 5w3d now and looking forward to seeing a heartbeat at 7w. :)  I think I am due anywhere from Sept 28-30, just a week and a half after my 31st birthday!

first time for me too :)  due 9/7 but haven't had that confirmed yet - i have a first prenatal scheduled for my 10th week (2/8) and we're interviewing 3 midwives over the next 2 weeks.  i'm starting off doing dual-care with the clinic and a home-birth midwife and will then shift to just the midwife later on.  i went to my first prenatal yoga today and being in a room with all prego moms-to-be made this all feel more real!  i'm still in shock somewhat since we only tried once and i wasn't expecting to get pregnant so damn easily at 38, especially since i have many friends who are working long and hard at the process.  i'm feeling okay - not great but not horrible anymore.  my nausea started really early and has definitely been better in the past week so i'm hopeful that i'm trending in the right direction!  and my breast soreness has also decreased this week - maybe i'll feel normal again sometime soon!  i would love to be able to eat normally and not be so picky - i keep planning and cooking meals that i don't want to touch once they are ready.  all i want to eat is bread and crackers and dairy with a few carrot sticks thrown in!

We are due Sept 2.  First timer for me and My SO has a child that was adopted out when he was in his early 20's.  I have 17 nieces and nephews, so far, and have had many experiences shared with me about pregnancy and childbirth.  I've also attended and assisted a few of my sisters births.

We tried for a year (or didn't not try) and didn't get pregnant until we worked out some things that we needed to.  The body is pretty amazing.  We both knew the day we conceived but didn't test for almost a month. My breasts are huge and have had two growth spurts, lol.  My nipples are so itchy which is the most annoying thing ever.  Other than that, only nausea (very bad) has been plaguing me.

Wow, so many first time moms-to-be here!

I am pregnant with my first baby, due Sep 28, which is actually my birthday :) I'm in my 8th week now. I thought it would take much longer to get pregnant, but we've only tried for a month - guess we're lucky. My fiancé and I are super excited, he's being helpful and understanding.. and I think he's even couvading a bit ;)

I yet have to go to my first prenatal appointment. Are any of you already thinking about what kind of birth they'd want? I'm thinking right now I'd like both an obstetrician and a midwife, and possibly a water birth at a hospital. I know the hospital nearest to me offers water births too, although I don't know if it would be covered by my insurance.

So far I'm feeling okay-ish. The nausea set in at week 6, I was hoping I'd be spared cause my mom said she felt great throughout her pregnancy with me. That said, it probably could be a lot worse. Right now I'm nauseous / queasy every day, especially in the evenings. I try to graze instead of eating decent meals, and on most days I'm very tired and could sleep until the afternoon if you let me. Kind of looking forward to week 12 or 13, I read the nausea and fatigue should go away at about that time..

We have decided to have a home birth.  I'm not crazy about any of the hospitals in my area, so we are putting all our good energy into a healthy home birth. Our midwives are awesome and have assisted in 8 of my nieces and nephews births.

I've lost most of my nausea, but it hits me sometimes still.  I'm hoping to start working out again this week, very hopeful about my energy returning.

i'm in week 11 and i definitely seem to be trending up - i had several days last week that were rough, energy wise and a few returns in queasiness but now, it's been a few days straight of feeling more normal than not - yippee!  i know that it's not always a linear shift and you can go up and down so i don't expect i'm fully done with the 1st trimester challenges.  my biggest issue at this point is my sleep - it's all whacked out and some nights i'm only getting 4-5 hours (and the baby isn't even here yet!!) and spend a lot of time trying to get back to sleep.  really hope the 2nd trimester is easier for me on that level as well.

we're also planning a home birth with a midwife and i'm coordinating that with standard OB care in the beginning to let my insurance take care of testing and ultrasounds and whatnot - and then i will also be in the doc's system in case there is a need to shift the birth plan into the hospital, which i don't expect will happen but i know anything is possible.  our local Kaiser has a decent birth center and you can choose to work with a nurse midwife and they are also quite supportive of home births so having the combo of care seems to work well here.

Hello all i'm 13w1d and i'm due September 5 2013...First baby!!! I had my first appointment on Feb 4 and doctor said i was right on track. 9w4d along. I'm having my next appointment on March 4... it's been a long month waiting for this. As of about 2 weeks ago or so my symptoms have eased up and then they come back in a day or two. I started to cramp a lot with in the last 2 days. Not where i have to call the Doc but i feel the stretching. Some days i feel nothing like i'm not pregnant. I wish we could go to the doctor every week or two rather wait for a month.

CANT WAIT FOR MONDAY 2CD PRENATAL APPOINTMENT I WILL BE 13W4DROTFLMAO.gif

I have that too. I'll be 10weeks tomorrow. Basically whenever I start feeling better, it's like I'm not pregnant at all and I start wondering if baby has left the building or something. :P

Btw has everyone had their first prenatal appt by now? I'm not seeing my OB/midwife until week 12 or 13..

yeah, I had my first prenatal with my midwife somewhere around week 11.  just did my first trimester screening yesterday and got to see the baby, which was very cool :)  and bizarre!  even though i'm planning a home birth, i will do the 20 week ultrasound with the OB and i'm definitely looking forward to seeing pics that look a bit more human :)

Also a first-timer here. Due Sept 26th (my dad's bday is the 25th and mine is the 15th) so this baby will bring some additional thunder to the family's September birthdays. thumb.gif

I'm 13 weeks this week and I can't say I'm showing yet but we're definitely excited to welcome our first baby!
