Having seen this thread I finally remembered to weight myself. I expected to still be around 9 stone (126lb), so I got a bit of a shock to find that I've gained a stone and a half (21lb)!! Now wonder I feel so big and heavy!

You are right. It is a total mindf*ck to be so focused on gaining weight. It's the opposite of my whole life! But if appropriate weight gain is associated with healthier twins, by jove, I will do my best.

I'm up 10lbs at 16 weeks. My 5 yo son told me my butt is big yesterday, so that was nice.

Well, my weight gain seems to be under control - somewhere between 8 and 12 pounds. None in the last three weeks, only 2 in the two weeks before that. So I'm going to blame the scary initial weight gain on a combination of quitting smoking, and fatigue + increased appetite + no morning sickness.

So I've noticed that everyone else has gained half of what I have at the very most! Does this mean I'm a pie and have gained too much weight? Well I'll ask the midwife about it at my appointment today anyway. I feel like I must have a dozen babies in there!

I'm 13 weeks by LMP, 14 weeks by scan measurement, and I'm up 9 pounds.

I'm 17 weeks, and have gained about 4-5 lbs. My dr doesn't seem to be concerned, though, and my bump is deceptively large compared to the weight gain. I'm chalking it up to staying active, and know that I'll probably make up for lost weight gain later on in the pregnancy.

I weighed myself this weekend and was amazed to find that I'm only up 1 lb! Still, that means I'm 15-17 lbs over my normal weight, as I still have extra padding since DS was born. But I'm very glad to see I'm not adding to that exponentially- I usually gain too much in the first trimester. I'm 13 weeks today.

Nettle soup, I've put on at least 20lbs too. I look like I've got fat greensad.gif and now my clothes don't fit anymore 😖

I'm not alone, yay! If it makes you feel better, my midwife said that it'll be partly the increase in blood supply, so that's nice to know! She wasn't worried anyway.

I'm a weirdo. I'm 16 weeks, and I've only gained 1 lb. The funny thing is my waist is growing regardless. I can't button my pants anymore. I got a couple belly bands to deal with that. I'm really envious of those of you who are gaining weight. I've always been small (5'2" and 101 lbs.), and gaining weight is really difficult for me. It's made morning sickness scarier because I can't afford to lose weight.

I'm with you, coati, gaining weight is foreign to me. Just weighed myself and gained 2 lbs, woohoo! I'm making an effort to eat consistently throughout the day, even when I don't feel hungry.

In the past month I have gained exactly nothing which I am not too worried about at the moment. I have no idea what I weighed before the pregnancy since I don't keep a scale and have no need to care about it otherwise but at the midwives, they want me to weigh myself each time so that's how I know this. I'm 14 weeks as of yesterday.

12lbs. Looks like I'm well on my way to the 50 I gained with my son again. Yay.

thank you dakipode! that was really reassuring; i was getting a bit nervous.

13+4 today and still the same weight, although i seem to be finally growing a little bit of a belly. it's a sometimes-belly. weird how that doesn't translate to weight gain. also weird considering the amounts of ice cream and cake i've been eating lately. but! i'm just not gonna worry about it till week 20, i guess. or at least not until my midwife expresses some interest in my weight.

lol..i am thinking the exact same thing!

the last time i weighed myself (around 11 weeks)  i was 122 (i am usually 114 ish i think: we don't have a scale in the house).

i also gained 50 pounds with my son 11 years ago & feel i am well on my way again...

16 weeks and I'm up 12. The calorie math doesn't add up, so I'm not going to stress. I'm pretty sure at least 50% of that is in my breasts, since they're overflowing the bras I bought two weeks ago, and since I just found the beginnings of stretch marks on them this morning. My rib cage and hips are still the same size as prepregnancy.
