Just Getting Back Into Exercising After Quitting Smoking

I just quit smoking after about 10 months of having started smoking again. I'm 10 days nicotine free and ran a mile last night for the first time in almost 2 years! I was shocked at my lung capacity! A week ago, I had a constant cough from smoking. The cough is gone. I'm so happy that I'm getting back on the wagon! I'm training for a 5K mud run that's in September (might do some races in between, if I'm ready) and am really happy I'm off to a good start. joy.gif

That is fabulous! My dad just quit smoking after 50 years and he has seen such improvements in his health. It is so impressive!

Thank you! Still haven't smoked and haven't had a single craving! I had to take a break on exercise because my baby's sleep patterns changed and it threw me for a loop energy-wise.

Thank you! I feel like a huge weight has been lifted! (no pun intended) Now I need to get adequate sleep so I can stay active!

My dad is still going strong - hasn't had a cigarette for 7 months or more. He was insulin dependent and has been totally off insulin for about 5 months and has been able to stop his breathing treatments as well. Such tremendous health improvements. It's amazing!

That's awesome! My mom has been going for 30 years. No sign of her stopping. :(
