I live in Central FL and on the news tonight it stated that there are 4 confirmed cases of measles in central FL. I think they are all in the same family - 4 kids ages 4-13. They don't know yet where it originated from. Is there anything to do or be cautious of if measles starts going around Orlando/Central FL?
Confirmed measles cases nearby....what to do?
You should wait and see if they are in the same family or if it is truly an outbreak that will spread before getting worried. call the health dept and find out......And vaccination is no guarantee they won't get it anyway, or get a milder case or anything of the sort. There have been scores of vaxed kids who came down with measles regardless of being fully vaxed.
http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/91/5/1014 Vitamin A is known to lessen the effects of Measles. and most people who contract it are deficient in Vitamin A. Give your kids their vitamins and they should be fine. Vitamin A also helps to naturally lower fever. Juice some fresh organic carrots for the kids everyday for a natural dose of vitamin A natures Vaccines work much more efficiently without the chemicals and adjuvants of modern vaccines. .
