This is so annoyingly true!
Hang in there during the wait time, however long or short it is.

Hurray!  Getting closer.

I lost a huge piece of my mucus plug about 3 weeks ago when baby dropped for a day.... he came back up and nothing since then.  I was scared at the time, but nothing came from it.  Hope some of us start having these babies soon!  (I am 37+1 today and I know there are others that are at least 38+ in this group!!!)

Exciting! Even though I've never lost my plug before labor, I still check the toilet paper every time I pee these days just in case :)

Was it bloody mucous?  I had DD exactly 4 days to the hour that I saw bloody mucous last pregnancy.  Unfortunately, they do say that you can continue to lose bits of mucuous for weeks....but if it was something large and significant, I couldn't help getting excited too!  Good luck!

Yeah, I lost a piece of my mucus plug more than a week ago and got really excited but haven't had anything else since. Hopefully it means more for you!

I'm 36 weeks. I had a couple of contractions yesterday, but not much today. DD was born at 35wks and I've been on progesterone injections to prevent preterm birth, so it's not totally unexpected. I'm just glad to be past 36 weeks because now I can deliver at the small hospital I want to be at - as opposed to the high-intervention hospital that takes the preterm birth. I'm attempting a VBAC, so the hospital I give birth at feels pretty important.

It wasn't bloody - just a big, huge piece of mucous. With DD I lost the plug and my water broke at the same time. But, this pregnancy has been SOOO different than the last - who knows?

FTM question here--what does your mucus plug look like? Yesterday and today I've had some clearish yellow booger type things when I wipe, but I'm only 34w3d. Should I be worried about preterm labor? greensad.gif or do I only need to worry if it turns bloody?

I've been having those too, but I just consider that discharge rather than mucus plug. IME, your mucus plug pieces will be pretty big and likely brownish/bloody. But, everyone is different.

That being said, if that is your only symptom I probably wouldn't worry about preterm labor, just because it is likely discharge and even if it were mucus plug, that doesn't mean baby is coming right out. :)

That makes me feel much better. smile.gif I searched other threads, and it looks like a lot of mamas have this even earlier in the 3rd tri and had full-term babies. I haven't noticed any bhx or anything. I will ask at my next appt. on Tues. I guess!
