they're every bit as horrible as you remember them!  i had forgotten- i tandem nursed through my last 2 pregnancies/births, and it wasn't this bad.  this time, i'm making enough for two babies and only have one dedicated and enthusiastic little guy on duty.  he's enjoying the challenge, but my breast is seriously 5x bigger than his head.  it probably weighs more than him too!!!

anyone have a good rec for an herbal tea for postpartum/nursing/in general?? Right now I have been drinking a Pregnancy Tonic Tea that has Raspberry leaf, Stinging Nettles leaf, Oatstraw and Alfalfa leaf. I definitely don't need something to boost my milk supply (I have oversupply issues!), but looking for something with lots of good nutrients just to help with overall health/immune support, etc.. I could just keep drinking the Pregnancy Tea too? Just getting to the bottom of my bag and need to order more or something different!

for those looking for simple external yeast treatments- my son had yeasties in all his creases.  bum, knees, armpits.  i mixed 1/2 olive oil and 1/2 raw sunflower oil for carriers and then put them into my almost empty myrrh essential oil container (auracacia)- then added 5 drops lavender and 6 drops geranium.  after one application the yellow ooze was gone.  after a few days the redness and rawness.  i apply it at ever diaper change preventatively and we've not seen any more issues from it!

he didn't have it on his tongue and my nipples were fine too, so i was looking for a simple remedy for the external that was natural and effective.  this was my first try and i was so happy w/ how quickly and well it worked!  i've never used a diaper cream or powder, but i am using this like a cream now.

did you ever find anything?  i don't have any single teas- i have looseleaf nettle, red raspberry leaf, camomile, rooibos, fenugreek, fennel (I avoid these last 2 when early in the nursing game due to oversupply), hibiscus, and spices like cinnamon and clove that i love- i just mix and match when i want tea.  i've been doing a suntea w/ hibiscus and drinking that iced or mixed w/ bubbly water.

though i've also been thinking about tinctures for hormones.  anyone taking anything for hormones or post-partum support?

Curious about hormone support too, HoP. I'm gonna ask some of my herbalist mama friends and see what they think. Will report back!

when i was younger, it was easier, but i'm pretty hormonal after pregnancy.  and would love anything to help it!

sorry i haven't replied yet mamas.

lady's mantle leaf is great for PP balance. i have been taking maca as well for all the vitamins and minerals and energy flow it gives me. they are both safe for breastfeeding.

alfalfa leaf is nice too for the magnesium and potassium and vitamin k.

i'm typing this one handed across nursing to sleep baby. my arm wants to collapse!

Oohh, I loved my maca! Maybe if I take it again I won't feel the need to go running from DH every time he gives me so much as a sideways glance. (He says he loves the hunt, oh heavens help me.)

oh goodness- that last line got a nice guffaw over here!  congrats, sounds like you might need the maca SOON!  thumbsup.gif

still giggling...  my hubby gave out maca to all the men  in his family to share w/ their wives one christmas after i finally got him to try it.  he got some weird responses.  we do have a nephew on the way and credit was given to maca!

Lol! Maca helped us too. I went off birth control and started taking it to help balance my hormones because my acne went crazy. 3 months later I was pregnant and we weren't even seriously trying.
