Very confused, angry, and have a lot of questions about my birth experience - Page 5

I did not do hypnobabies with my births but I did do the Bradley method which encourages relaxation. I don't like how hypnobabies seems to group all women into a bunch and convinces them that their labor's can be pain free or nearly pain free. My first birth was nearly pain free, but pushing was still painful, my second labor was very painful but only for an hour during transition and my third and final labor was horribly fast and painful nearly the whole time (three hours). I used Bradley breathing and relaxation for pain management each time and they still felt different. Your contractions sound very normal for a fast progressing labor. It sounds like your cervix was getting a lot done during those painful contractions. Your labor might be fast this time and probably painful again. You should work pain management into your plan up front so that they know and schedule you for what you need. The midwives that I worked with at the hospital offered every option in labor, including medical pain management and you should find a practice that does the same. I unfortunately did not have enough time for pain meds! Good luck!

I did hypnobabies also but not totally I took what I could use with my second child my first so  was traumatic as in I did not have the first or second stage of labor and was thrown right into active labor my sons heart stopped and he was completely limp and blue when born he's now a crazy funny 8yo boy I was petrified to give birth again so with lots of praying and reading and positive thoughts I gained my confidence up and attempted to push fears away I went mostly I medicated (I had some nuban) I was able to use some of the hypno teniques after the nuban  and I can say the combo was perfect basically I was then able to rest I would not jump to a c section but will agree the stitching up was atrocious with my first I told the do for I'd rather push six more babies out than one more stitch lol my second labor I'd do over again with my next child if God blesses us again I hope you have a healing expearance this time around

OP -- If you are considering a c-section on maternal request, some resources that might be helpful include Pauline Hull's blog which is found at http://cesareandebate.blogspot.com as well as the associated book that she co-authored with a urologist called "Choosing Cesearan".

Another resource is awaitingjuno.blogspot.com which includes posts on a mother's journey after she was not allowed to have her first baby by c-section by maternal request.
