I've been looking into midwifery programs for quite some time; I'm trying to find one that I can not only complete in a reasonable time frame, but afford! I was very pleased to see NCM's price tag for academic prep, however, I have no idea how I'd manage to pay $500 a month for a preceptor...
1. Is $500/month the going rate for a preceptor, if not, what is?
2. If $500/month is the going rate, how have you paid for that?
3. Pros and cons of NCM's program...
I was looking at AAMI, as I am a self-starter, good academic student, working full time, and not in a position to relocate to Bastyr (the closest brick-and-mortor midwifery school), but the more I read, the more I was looking for MEAC accredited and a little less... personality.
Honest discussion and opinions are gratefully accepted!
Thanks!
