MicahMae!! Looks like you can just kick up your feet and relax!!!!

I'm finally on mat leave and feeling like I have time to really focus on this baby now!  We've gotten alot done, but there a still a few things left:

-get new glasses (I tried to fix mine without any success, so I guess I need to  shopping for a new pair..ouch!  My vision is 200/20, so glasses are easily 500$ for me!! Insurance covers less than half)

-install car seat base in car....though in the worse case scenario, DP does that when we're in the hospital

-buy new  bag to use as diaper bag(I've retired my old one)...mom wants to buy it for me, I"ve picked it out, but we need to go get it now

-pick up co-sleeper from a friend's place.....plan to do this on Thursday as well as a box of newborn clothe.  I guess I'll spend some time friday organising and putting it away.

-finish packing hospital bag....but honestly, that's a 2 minute job.  We're going to a fully equiped birthing centre and have a midwife so are not planning on staying very long.  I really only need a change of clothes for me, for baby and toilettries.

I'm appreciating this oppurtunity to "think out-loud" here!!  I feel more organised!!!

Our washer and dryer are here and getting installed today! Yay! I wont have to do any loads of cloth diapers at the laundromat! My mom is here now too helping me with some fun stuff.

The camper leaves our backyard today so we can spread some straw and hope for grass and wildflowers soon. My body tells me that this is the last bout of cold before the baby arrives!

I really feel ready now! Its like all the necessary things have been done!

Well, I 've been done preppeing baby stuff for a good long time now but I am jsut getting to some big things today! Hurray!

-Had the ceptic pumped/serviced (BTW, if you have a septic, you should not use powder detergents, not even for cloth diapers! I didn't know and we had a MAJOR clog from it.)

-filled out new PCP forms

-made my first appt at a chiro for pelvic alignment and pelvic pain (going today)

-need to finish cleaning my bedroom

-would love to mop up and downstairs one more time before baby arrives

I feel really good about where my family is at and the state of my house is running pretty smoothly right now.

LOL I'm feeling pretty ready.  Friday after work I rented a carpet/upholstery cleaner and went NUTS......family room rug and couch all clean, couch and rug in our bedroom clean!  :)  It took HOURS and no one but me really appreciated how disgusting the water was each time I changed it.  How is that?  I was positively gloating with each trip to the sink.  I'm elated---I've been trying to do that for the past YEAR!  :P

DP put up the last pieces of drywall in our new hallway (connecting our room and the pantry to the rest of the house and the barn), and did yet another coat of mud.  The kids made tons of food and lots of messes which I had to nag into compliance, but hey, it was their last couple of days of school vacation, right?  DP and I also set up the birth tub (AquaDoula) in the greenhouse, which is completely freaking the cats out.

So, I think we're ready for this baby.  Too bad s/he won't be here for a few more weeks!  :P

Good job!  I'm on day 3 of leave and it has still slipped my mind!  My bank account won't like me very much if I don't get on to it!

Maybe you can answer a quick question for me!  If I lost my ID and password to do it online, do I actually have to show up at a Service Canada office to get  a new one?

I only have few things left and none of them are must do's

Install diaper sprayer (this came in the mail yesterday)

Finish PJ's for hospital (about 1/2 way done)

Finish Baby hat (a necessity since it snowed today and I'm due any day!)

Finish Baby kimono jacket (cut out but probably won't get done)

The only other things are keeping the house clean and organized.

I think you just start all over again.  I didn't have a password - just went to the Service Canada webpage and followed their links.  But maybe it's different if you've received EI before....  I really don't know. Sorry.

Just for the record. (and if you have to apply again in the future), you`re right!  You start over again, but they do ask if you want to use the same banking info as last time, so you don`t need to fill that part in.

Well, that`s one thing that`s done!  I feel better now!

I also lost my ID and password, but I found I could recreate one on the website pretty easily (however, I did have my access code from a 3 week claim in the summer).

The process was pretty good and easy(ish), it took about an hour including a 15 minute hold time to talk to  a rep about a question.

Good luck!

I feel like there are still many things on this list, but I'm actually not so worried about them any more. Still working on getting through them, but I feel more relaxed about it. smile.gif

For birth specifically:

Buy the few remaining things on our midwives' list

Put all the birth supplies in the same place

Pack a hospital bag for just in case

Get feedback on backup hospital birth plan from midwives, and print multiple copies (put in hospital bag)

Buy hose and adapter for filling up birth tub (and liner?)

Practice setting up and draining tub  I'm not really worried about the draining part any more, but do want to make sure we understand how the pump inflates the pool!

Stock foods for labor (for me and birth team)

To buy:

Car seat!!! We had it on the baby shower list just in case, but now I need to go click the button myself. smile.gif

Dresser that can also work as a changing table

Few remaining things from registry that would be nice to have (absorbent blankets, etc.)

To do:

Make appointment to meet the pediatrician we think we want to use, and go meet her - [she moved!! greensad.gif now we have to figure out who else we might want to go to]

Practice diaper folds/changing

Get a diapering space set up (where are the clean diapers going to go? Dirty ones? Wipes?)

Cut flannel into baby wipes, and maybe sew edges (if my sewing machine works, and if I have time)

File taxes

Send baby shower TY cards

Move our bed so we have room for the pack and play or sidecar

Watch "The Happiest Baby on the Block" (I read the book, but would like my husband to see the little film, so he has some ideas of ways one can soothe a baby!)

Ugh...filing taxes!  Yeah, I guess that gets to go on a to-do list for a March baby!

Gotta get that going!!!

39 +3 here.  Just set up the birth pool!  YIPEE!!!  My new room is coming along nicely... just have to finish up the new master bathroom, hopefully this weekend, and move our bed into the new master bedroom and I'll have a nice little "birth center" to labor in!  :)

Okay, everything that was on my to-do list is done, but now I've added a few things I want cleared out of the way - I have one cushion on our couch that needs significant repairs (about a 2-3 hour job) and my "doomed to consignment" drawer of clothes is overflowing and I could use some more credit at the consignment store so I think DD and I will sort stuff and head there this morning.  (Also, thanks to FB, I know that the bakery next door to the consignment store is making traditional cornish pasties today and that sounds like an awesome lunch, so extra incentive there...LOL)  MIL & FIL are back from Vegas so maybe I'll drop DD there this afternoon and get the cushion done.  Then tomorrow we're having a party for FIL because it's his 70th birthday, then Sunday I can flop around and watch back-to-back episodes of all my fav TV shows that I haven't got to this week because I've been too busy.

Hear that baby?  Not this weekend, k?

Chapsie, delighted to hear all is in order, that's a weight off your mind.

Spughy, I'm in the same boat, especially at the weekend, just wanting to enjoy the relaxation, movies, family walks, etc and asking that baby might just hold off a while.
I feel I got some 'extra' time, which I really appreciate, but now I need to flip my switch to open up for baby as there's nothing really left on my to-do list.
