Need help to buy a booster car seat

Our main concern is of course safety and comfort. I'd also want something that fits well so dd can belt herself and I don't have to do it each time.

Almost 6. The last time I checked in December either between 43-44" or it was 44 even.  The weight is between 46-47 lbs. I drive a Honda CRV.

Dh almost bought a booster without a backrest. If anyone knows are those any good?

A 5yo should be in a highbacked booster.

I also drive a CR-V.  I have used a Graco Turbobooster, and it worked well with the shape of the seats.  I don't know if a 5 year old could buckle a booster without help, but at least the Turbobosoter is narrower, so it's more likely that she could reach the buckle stalk.  

The downside to the Graco is that it is not a LATCH-ing booster.  That means you'll have to buckle the booster in even when it's empty so that it does not become a projectile in a crash.  It's not a huge deal, just one extra step to remember.

Thanks Mama2. She is far from 5. She is almost 6. And, yes that part where I have to buckle the seat back after use seems like a pain. I wonder if anyone has used this??

Personally, at that age and with you wanting her to buckle in herself (which should be no problem for a neurotypical 5 year old--- just check it's snug) I would make sure to get one she likes.  Let her try out a couple. You'll want her to be happy with and proud of using her seat :)

The Vivo is a fine booster, but it also needs to be buckled after each use.  That's something a child can be taught to do.

Thanks. I realized our car doesn't have the option for a latch on anyways.
