DS might have a girlfriend.

DS is "friends" with DH on facebook.  I was on Dh facebook account (with permission) and decided to click on DS for fun. I only went on his public page, I don't have or want his password.  His status read as "in a relationship with xyz".  I clicked on xyz and hers said "in a relationship with DS."  

Ds has not said anything to us about being in a relationship with anyone, although he has dropped her name once or twice, and she both loaned him a book and bought him a hobbit figurine.

So - my question:

Would you bring it up to DS that you know he is in a relationship?  On one hand, I think it might be good to let him know we are fine with this, he can invite her over here to hang out etc and we will all try to behave …OTOH, if he wants to keep it private for one reason or another, I do understand.  I think I would have stabbed myself with a fork in the eyeball before admitting to having a boyfriend to my parents when I was in high school.  My father would have teased me, and my mother might have tried to "talk" to me about it…..DS did stick it on facebook, though, so he has to know this is not private…right?

Ds will be 17 next month, fwiw.

Oh, if it's on facebook, then you have every right to ask about it lol. It might be nothing. Lots of kids mess around with that to confuse friends. My DD was "married" to a gay best guy friend a couple years ago. Most of DD's friends have stopped putting their real relationship statuses on facebook because then it's such a humiliating process to "change your relationship" status during a break-up.

I wouldn't make a big deal about it but yes, I think it would say something in passing so, like you said, he knows it's OK and doesn't need to be a secret.

I might drop her name casually, but otherwise, I would leave it alone. If he wants you all to know, he will.
