8 Week Healthy Weight Loss Challenge 7.0 (enrolling through Feb. 6, starts Feb. 4) - Page 6

today i walked a lot doing errands (most of it alone so at a fast pace) and have been really reasonable with portion sizes

... so am hoping i'll stay in the same mind set for now and will have a bigger loss this coming Monday !

When I stepped on the scale this morning, I was heavier than the day before :( I had a bad day yesterday because I was out of caffiene free diet coke (yes, I know, its terrible). The diet coke helps with me having that feeling of "wanting something" and it's calorie free. Instead, I wound up grazing/munching all day long.

Im slightly terrified to go to my 6 week follow up PP visit tomorrow and get on their scale. Their scale said 174 the day before the girls were born, and Im afraid that theirs will be much higher than mine and Ill feel like crap because Ill have not lost as much weight as I thought I had.

Anyone have issues with doing a very low carb diet and just feeling....dissatisfied?  I feel like I'm packing in the calories through fat and filling up the empty space with veggies, but just sort of left with a weird feeling of not knowing if I'm hungry or not.  And if I'm not, then...what is this feeling?

Also, I am planning a cheat day for Valentine's Day and kind of worried that I will spiral into a major carb-eating binge again.  I will try to count on this thread to get me back on track immediately on Friday.

I'm on a low carb-ish diet and have been since July. I do get the feeling that you described but I drink something instead and it goes away. It is weird...the only way to tell if I am really hungry is if my stomach is yelling at me but that has been very rare. I'm pretty sure my stomach shrunk due to my portion sizes. lol.

As for cheat days, I used to do that before but I don't want to do that until I get to my goal weight. I can control my portions BUT from my experiences, cheat days would lead me down a spiral path to another 3 or so pounds gained. (It takes a lot of effort to lose the weight)

yeah, .... i thought i had lost weight by yesterday, this morning i had not planned to but hopped on the scale and it showed a 2 lb loss since Monday.

I do hope i can not only keep it but even improve the loss by next Monday ...

just back from a good swim session, it had been a while in between the children being sick and the kindergarten teacher on strike for two days in a 10 day period ....

Still a few more to check in. Can't believe it is Friday already. Been using a stability ball this week for some increased exercise. I have to be careful not to sit on them too long otherwise my back gets to hurting. My students are doing a research project with them at school.

on Friday am i managed to walk (fast pace) for 25 minutes and then 20 minutes

then, in the afternoon, instead of taking the coach back in town,

i decided to walk = 1 hour and 25 minutes and i was just on time at the school gate to pick up DD2 !!!!

+ saw an acupuncturist yesterday .... by my next visit, i'll have to have lost 3 to 4 kg (to get below 70kg)

so am now committed to having no starches in the evening

(as well as no sugar, & only two pièces of fruit per day)

i need to up the amount of vegetables i eat ....

Well, I had two cupcakes and a sugar cookie on Valentine's Day, but I was particularly vigilant about the carbs in all of the rest of my food that day and the next.  So I think it went alright.

I DO also find that I'm drinking a lot more on this diet.  I don't know if the diet itself is making me more thirsty, or if I'm just realizing that many of my carb cravings were misplaced thirst.  It is amazing that I haven't had a binge eating episode at all since I've started on this diet.  I really don't feel like I'm limiting the amount of food I eat at all, and yet I'm losing weight.  Bizarre.

The exercise thing is still stumping me, though. I'm just not sure when/how to fit it in.  I may just try to add in more housework in the evenings in lieu of "real" exercise.  Nothing like scrubbing the floors with a brush :)

So I'm still not losing any weight, but I'm not being really strict with my food either. My little nursling isn't a big comfort nurser and I'm a llittle worried that restricting will reduce my supply.

I am, however, doing better with my food choices.  I seem to have a good couple of days and then backslide a bit, but without restricting carbs or calories I usually have a hard time with controlling my foodstuffs.  I'm ok with the progress I've made in that arena, and have plans for doing even better this coming week.

I am really happy with the fact that I'm working out a little more as well.  Trampoline jumping yesterday and bodyweight exercise today. (squats, pushups, crunches and some yoga)

LOL! I find that doing "getting down and dirty" housework will do the trick often. Getting on hands and knees and scrubbing the floor does the trick and so does cleaning out the shower with brush...and heck, even doing the laundry the old-fashioned way using a washboard leaves me breathless but it takes a lot of time out of my day. lol.

Welp, Ive had the flu. So maybe that's helped with my loss, or maybe not. We really splurged on carbs for our V day dinner, and people have been bringing me food all day today (all carby) so we'll see. I havent exercised in three days. Im terrified to get on the scale.

this is my Monday's weigh in ... am overjoyed to see that i'm finally getting the hang of this ....

i cracked the 160 lb barrier this morning and am at 159.6

Yeah !!!!!

am doing carbs only morning and lunchtime, and not much of it ....

and veggies and proteïns + fats in the evening

yesterday was my rest day but this afternoon am taking the children to the ice skating rink

Weigh in day: 219.  So, no change.

Not thrilled, but not too disappointed.  When I did WW a few years back I would lose, stay the same, lose...  Hopefully that's the pattern that will show itself here.  I guess I'll see how next week goes.

I did stick to my routines this week, so I'm not devastated.

So after the flu, several people bringing me food, my v-day cheat dinner, and a few beers Ive had, I am scared about my weigh in. Plus, I had the Nexplanon birth control inserted this week and I feel like Im holding water all over. But, it's a new week, and today is Monday, day one!

Im getting back to my exercise this week, starting this afternoon!!!!

146.2 :(

Not that bad, but I did gain some back. Hopefully this week wont be too hard- it's my birthday and my mom is already making a buttermilk pie and gnochii soup, so I know my cheat meal is going to tempt me badly. The real struggle comes with getting back on track immediately instead of blowing the rest of the week, right? (no idea why I cant turn bold off).

156.4 today. Not bad, but doesn't follow the trajectory of 0.2 per day that I was seeing. I blame AF. Or maybe yesterday's linguica omelette...

Well two Valentine's banquets back to back didn't help me even if I did hold my eating in check. I had worked hard all week though so at least I am just at my starting weight 245.8 and will be back down where I belong next week.

142.4 today.  No choice but to step up my game because spring is almost here.

I'm stepping up the game too .  170 weigh in. Again. :(

But the last few days have been great.  better food choices, 3 days straight of exercise, and I really feel like cooking again!   Yay!

I might measure myself here in a bit but I might just not worry about it and stay really on track for next week.

Breakfast was delicious!  2 sprouted corn tortillas topped with fried eggs(in bacon grease), topped with lactofermented salsa and jalapenos.  Ran out of coffee after I had only one cup so I made a pot of green and white/herbal teas and thinking I might just try to stick to the one cup from here on out. I used to only drink one cup but it's upped slowly over the winter.

I've also managed to reign in the excessive evening drinking. Yay me.  I need to work on reigning in sugar now.

I reeaaalllly fell off the wagon this last week :(

I apologize to my team.  I had a terrible week emotionally and ate chocolate every day of the week.

I didn't gain, but I am still the same weight.  no loss.  149 this morning.

mamatoabirdie, hopefully your weight loss will catch up to you next week.

Here are the 3rd week stats so far. Yesterday's holiday seemed to have slowed down the weigh ins from being reported. Once I have some more weigh ins I will update our chart.
