Stabbing pain in my...cervix?

Anybody else have this? It's not common, but it's happened a few times in the last days, along with some pretty good Braxton hicks. I googled it and found that it could mean my cervix starting to dilate. Um...isn't it a bit early? I'll be 32 weeks tomorrow. I'm going to ask at my appointment on Wednesday, but anybody want to share thoughts before then? Thanks!

Oh I get stabby cervix pain now and then.  I did with DD as well.  Have done for a while. I don't think it means anything, actually - DD was born at 40wks +6 after an intensive stretch-n-sweep when I was only 1 cm dilated.

Some women walk around for weeks dilated 1-2cms. Don't panic unless you have other signs of preterm labor. Check with your care provider if you are worried :)

I also remember stabbing pains in my cervix off and on the last few months of my pregnancy with DD. I haven't had them much this time but that will probably change soon. I wouldnt worry about it being a sign of impending labor.

I've had a lot more stabby pains this time around. Just today, they were getting pretty intense.

I have more stabby pains and braxton hicks with this pregnancy than with babygirl.

I have the stabby pains, too.  It's normal from what I've been told. :D

I'm in week 33 today. since a few days, I have a sort of contraction in my groin area that makes me lose my balance and fall.

it is a bit painful, but it is more of a muscle "shaking" , like when your knees shake out of fear.

i hope it is just a regular Braxton Hicks contraction, but the loss of balance is what intrigues me most!!

Anybody has an idea about this?

Regards

Thanks everybody for your reassurance! Appointment today went great, and he's actually measuring a bit AHEAD by the ultrasound. So, feeling a lot better. We got to see him yawning and breathing fluid and he's definitely still a boy! No 3D pics because he had his leg up over his head. lol... Anyway, your words really helped me make it until today.

stephanieflora, I'm not sure about the falling down, but it sounds like your muscles are stretching as baby grows and that's why they're shaking. Just a thought. Ask your care provider though, just to be sure. smile.gif
