Haha! SO glad I'm not the only one! I tried a sample of King Cake at WF yesterday and it's been on the brain constantly! Today, hubs brought home chicken pot pies, chips and salsa, tater tots, and KING CAKE smile.gifsmile.gif

Chispita, you should totally make the guacamole. Avocado is v good for you.

My diet has been awful; too much sugar and I keep sneaking grain. And of course all the gluten free food that's not actually good for me. I really want to eat healthily, but i just can't do it when I feel like this.

To me, it feels like a 24/7 hangover. All I want is that relief from a greasy, carby meal...and I just never find it! Miserable. I just end up feeling too full and a new kind of uncomfortable.

Oh man, my grease craving was unbearable mid-last week. I had to go to A&W and get a big greasy burger and onion rings. It was terrible. Yesterday it was grilled cheese sandwiches. Today so far, it's nothing. On the bright side, I haven't been able to even THINK about chocolate since I got pregnant. Sure cut down on the Christmas weight gain!! I did go and buy a bunch of bags of Lays potato chips though duh.gif

On the coffee note, most of the current reading says up to 200 mg per day of caffeine is acceptable during pregnancy. That's about 1 12 oz cup of coffee - depending on who made the coffee and what kind it is! Not all cups of coffee are made equally. I did not quit coffee during my last pregnancy and baby is completely fine. This time, I quit drinking coffee at the beginning of the cycle that I got pregnant, so I just haven't started drinking it again (with the periodic exception of a really yummy Starbucks mocha redface.gif )

If you make this, please mail some to me!  I have the perfect tortilla chips for this and I am sure your recipe is divine!  ;)

I wish I could drink tea, but the baby's having none of it!

I did end up making it and it was perfect! yummy.gif

My recipe for this is nothing very special (avocado, tomato, salt, lemon juice), but since I can't eat spicy food (my spiciness tolerance is just about zero), I can't always eat the guacamole that's served in most places.

We made chili cheese baked potatoes for dinner and it was everything I had wanted and more smile.gif And a friend introduced me to water with lots of lemon and it's pretty much the best thing that's happened to me today. Regular water wasn't going down very well and was sitting in my stomach like a rock...which is weird, because I usually only drink water with no problems.

I get that, MadelynMc. Sometimes water just hits me wrong, too. I can't wait for summertime, when I can have shaved ice.

CMU204- You can buy frozen lemonade and Italian ice in the store. That's what I did :-). Today, for dinner I had bread with avocado. Trying to figure out what to eat now for a bit more protein.

Thanks, Deborah, I just might. But I get so cold this time of year I'd have to sit in front of the fireplace wrapped up in a blanket! wink1.gif

Deborah, lemonade has been on my mind since you mentioned it a few weeks ago. Picked up some popsicles at the store the other day (along with the frozen pizza) and today after lunch I had my frozen lemonade popsicle and it made me sooo happy!

Chispita, your guac recipe is similar to mine except I use garlic salt and lime juice.

I drank coke. It was bad and wrong, but it really did make me feel better. I like the idea of lemonade so I think I'll try and find some vaguely natural lemonade to drink instead.

nettlesoup, I've been craving soda too but have found I enjoy bubbly water or kombucha instead (the bubbly water is best to me). I buy a lemon or grapefruit one that hits the spot. I also had a coke the other day (so much for staying TF) but it was so sweet that it made me feel worse. I think it's all about the bubbles/burping/queasy-ness relief.

Haurelia; I think you're right about the fizziness, that seems to be the part I crave most.

I feel so guilty for eating so badly at the moment. I know it's bad for both me and the baby, but it's so hard to resist. I do wonder if the bad food is making me feel worse in the long run, but it's so hard staying healthy when I feel ill and have all these unhealthy cravings.
