i feel like a freakin' lunatic. hubby told me not to drink out of a glass on the counter, not knowing that i had just poured it and that the cat couldn't have gotten into it (she's a jerk) and i came upstairs got into bed and started crying.

Full moon tonight!  Come on and bring some babies!

I was feeling very off last night.  Lots of pressure in my abdomen and quite a few BH.  Lost tons of mucus last night and today nothing.  

I took a few more maternity photos yesterday and the kids were not helping at all.  Oh well!

I woke up during the night to a little gush of fluid that definitely wasn't urine. Went to the bathroom to discover that it was definitely............evening primrose oil.

I had my hopes up for about 30 seconds there. :)

LOL, not even bothering with EPO this time.  My cervix is already mush.

I hit the 36 week milestone yesterday!  (for twins that's like 37 weeks for singletons).  Today is DD's birthday.  I was really hoping for her sake that I wouldn't have the twins before today so that she could enjoy her birthday party without all the drama of new babies in the house - she's been looking forward so much to her party! (which we had yesterday, actually).  Even if I went into labor now, I'm confident that they wouldn't come before midnight, and I'm so relieved that she doesn't have to share a birthday with her sisters.  So I'm ready anytime now - come on, babies!

me too!  my husband laughed at me when i busted out the list online of how to naturally encourage labor.

"Really, again?"  he said.  "Not that it's ever worked with any of the other 4."  

oh, yeah.  right.  that.  he's not cloudy w/ crazy hormones (thankfully!)

and my cervix has been mush, and the baby is head down, and not posterior, AND THERE'S NOTHING I CAN DO but wait.  

my midwife comes over tuesday morning.  i'm hoping she says this baby feels on the bigger side to her, b/c these last few weeks it seems like the baby has really gotten long and big.  and i was thinking smaller, but now am curious.

I've tried several times and can't seem to feel my cervix at all. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong? I never tried to find it before pregnancy, though, so this is probably one of the hardest times to learn. I've tried in the shower in a deep squat and with one leg up on the edge. Any tips?

i can't for the life of me even get a finger up there to check mine. baby is way down there.

I think I gave it a shot (feeling for my cervix) when I started TTC and read TCOYF.  Then I laughed at myself because I have the world's shortest fingers.  I mean, really, they are shorter than the fingers of my tiny, bird-boned, 4'11", Size 00 cousin.  I know it should be easier to feel for now, but... eh.  I don't want any VEs/CEs from anyone, so I figure I'll pass.

LOL!  this is NOT the time to try and learn to find your cervix.  I learned w/ TCOYF, and had a pretty easy time locating and following it's positions.  now, i can barely reach ANYTHING.  

i can't get high enough to tell what the dilation is, but can tell that since the beginning of pregnancy, when the cervix is LONG AND HARD and feels like a nose, it's totally disappeared.  but i can also tell by the sensations during dtd- there's a different feeling when it's softer and more open.  

honestly, it doesn't tell you anything.  i was totally effaced and 4cm for a full 4 weeks w/ my 3rd child.  so after that, internal exams can give HINTS about how ready your body is, but it can also just tell you what you're body's doing w/out telling you anything about what to expect.  

kellybeth- EWWWWWWW!!!!  i'll be honest, in all my parenting, i've used that bulb thing maybe 2 times.  maybe.  and my midwife never used one at birth (i never saw them use on the in hospital either- so not sure if there's a specific time or reason).  i do have 2 on hand JIK.  but really am curious if we'll even use it this time.  my mom swore by them, and i know other moms have used them.  but they're not essential and i would totally buy a new one and toss any older ones!

LOL, yes. i have totally done this too - seems to happen more when i use 2 capsules so i've stopped doing that for now..   the ones i'm using are huge anyway..

I check my cervix all the time not-pregnant (for fertility awareness reasons ;) ) and for the most part i can't reach it now, i've been able to reach it one time in the past week (since i've been inserting EPO) and otherwise i can't get to it no matter what i do so you probably just can't reach..  (well, actually, i can feel the very edge of it, but if i didn't know what i was doing i wouldn't know that was what it was cause it feels just like everything else in there, probably means i don't need the EPO - but it seemed to help last time so i'm doing it anyway.. )

I'm having a very uncomfortable weekend.. blah. much better than the pelvic pain from last weekend, but just full of baby..

I have been trying to keep baby away from my ribs today too.  He is kicking and pushing heels and knees into my ribs and I keep pushing it back down.  I don't think he likes it....

I'm there with you! I was so foul last night and this morning that I was picking fights all over the place and I was just about ready to kick my cat this morning when she, very reasonably, was hovering around me waiting to be fed (which is insanely out of character for me).

I have a HydraSense that I found on sale for a pretty reasonable price, so I'll be using that if necessary.

I'm also quite curious to know if I'm dilated at all but I'm not even going to try to find my cervix. I'm quite sure that would be a lesson in futility at this point since even wiping myself requires serious focus, breath-holding and contortionist poses at this point. Doctor says she doesn't check until 39 weeks, as a rule, so I'll find out on Friday.

I've been trying to check my cervix occasionally the past week or two, and it's still too high.  I can just barely feel it during some parts of my cycle when not pregnant.  I was under the impression that if it's too high to feel it won't be dilating yet, but I don't know if that's correct at all.  Those of you who know you are starting to dilate - is your cervix significantly lower now?  I just can't find any good info on this and it frustrates me to not know things about my own body. :{

On another note - I just finished putting together a photo album for DD for her birthday, and I just wanted to throw out a piece of advice for the first-time moms here.  Don't just take all your pictures of your babies doing cute things by themselves.  Make sure to get good shots of baby with grandparents, other relatives, friends, etc.  We had TONS of super cute portrait-style pictures of DD which is great to have for me and DH, but I realized that what DD is going to want to see years from now are pictures of her with her family and friends and pets, and pictures that capture a little of what day-to-day life was like.  I'm sure she'll get a kick out of seeing the cute easter outfit she wore as a baby, but pictures of Mama and Papa actually looking young or reading a book with her great-grandma are going to be so much more meaningful and interesting for her.  I wasn't able to find any pictures of DD with her great-grandpa who died when she was a little over a year old, or any of her with my husband's maternal grandmother either, and I only found one decent photo of her with my Dad.

My cervix is really high too.  Although, I was a 3-4 and super high with DD2.  I can't say when dilation begins, but I was for sure dilating before DD2 engaged and settled.

I can't tell what my cervix is doing other than being squishy.... I feel something completely different than when it is firm, even when it is firm and high.  Anyways, just wanted to add my experience with DD2, since my cervix was high, but opening.

my cervix has always been high until i'm in active labor, really until i'm like 5-6cm  (high and posterior) my OB and midwife commented on it and i've always been 1-2cm when they've checked me before labor....   it was low enough for me to reach one night last week and i'd guess i was at least 2cm, though i still couldn't reach enough to really tell, just could tell the opening was at least that big vs what it feels like not-pregnant..

I usually check while on the toilet because it's easier to reach for me. Mine changes all the time: last week I was 3 cm and low and almost totally effaced, this week more like 2 cm and 75% and high. Sometimes it's too high for me to reach and other days it's right there. I have noticed it's lower and more open the days I'm on my feet a lot. I'm sure everyones is different and may or may not fluctuate that much.
