Kellybeth I had similar ear issues and for me it was/is an infection and congestion in the eustachian tube/ middle ear. I tried the hydrogen peroxide, homeopathic drops, and saline flushing and I just ended up giving myself another infection in the ear canal itself. So don't mess with it too much, if it hurts or starts draining I'd definitely go see your PCP. The ENT I eventually went to see to resolve the outer ear infection, said the stuffiness in the ear is likely related to the extra mucus in pregnancy. You can try to pop it, or try inhaling steam. Both outer and middle ear infections have resolved for me but I still have the full/stuffy feeling in my ear, and occasionally all I can hear in that ear is my own breathing, it's so annoying.

I'm having a hard time putting together music for the labor but I really want to have something ready, so I'm going to tackle that today.
DH has been in a weird funk for a few days. He's had some changes at work that might be stressing him out, hasn't had a restful weekend in a few weeks and recently cut out wheat again. He can't really put a finger on what's bugging him, so he's not talking about it. So it's just been a bit of a bummer to not really be connecting.
OTOH, I remember him going through something similar right before ds2 was born. So maybe this funk is a good indicator that the birth is coming soon.

I also get one ear that feels/sounds plugged up sometimes. It's super annoying but never painful. I've tried several things with varying degrees of success. Peroxide, alcohol, ear candle, coconut oil, heating pad... so annoying.

sorry odinsmama... .hopefully goes away soon. I get UTIs usually and not yeast infections, so I don't have any ideas for treatment.
I have no patience for my kids this week, especially my 4 year old who seems to think she is in charge of everything and ends up screaming at me or crying over just about everything. I know she is feeling there is going to be a change, but I just can not handle all of the back talk and whining and crying. My 2 year old loves to follow big sis' lead, so she ends up going right along with whatever 4 year old does and it is not good.
Hoping this ends soon, or I have this baby so I don't have the irritating hormones anymore (although, postpartum hormones are always hard to get used to as well.) I am just glad we will have some help from MIL and mom for a few weeks, I just feel like locking myself in the bathroom half the day.
over the longest time to make sure things
clear up. But I guess at this point you may
not have a week left. Hope it feels better
soon and that your DH feels better too.
Chloesmama- I am so irritable with DD this week too. She usually has issues around bedtime and sometimes in the morning
getting ready for Pre-school. This week
seems to be worse but I think it's just
because I am always so tired and don't want
to move. She always seems to know right
when I'm falling asleep and wakes up. Last
night she woke up every 2 hours and all I
could think is "how on earth am I going to
handle two of them waking me up all
night?!". I too am dreading the PP hormone
shift but am really hoping my placenta
medicine will help.
odinsmama I hope you're able to get it cleared up soon! That does not sound fun.
My friend and I were just talking about how 4 is the roughest stage. Our little guys (who are the cutest best friends) have been very challenging recently, too! If DS2 wasn't so over-the-top excited for the baby I would be really, really worried about the adjustment. I'm actually more concerned about my oldest because he's more complicated emotionally and doesn't react well to change. Both DH and I have been trying to spend some good quality one-on-one time with each over the past couple of weeks and will try to continue that after baby gets here (even though it will be a lot harder).
I saw my midwife today and she palpated and thinks the baby is about 7 lbs. So a good size! I was worried he was small.
odinsmama - ouch! so sorry you're dealing with that - hope it clears up soon! I had a YI earlier this pregnncy and also used a 7 day treatment, but i too would be nervous about relying on that at this stage..
on 4 year olds - i am so there too! my 4 yr old is going through a lot of changes, emotionally and academically he has been making huge leaps in development and while its fun and exciting its also been a big challenge and my formally super laid back kid is suddenly fighting us on all sorts of things.. and just generally being frustrated (and frustrating) .. he is super excited about the baby though, so i hope that he will like having the baby around as much as my oldest liked having a new baby when she was his age.. my 2 yr old almost seems to be going through the same stage.. at least the same type of stage.. it pretty much feels like she is a 4 or 5 yr old pretending to be a 2 yr old.. its probably the other way around in reality since she has 2 older siblings.. but its still very strange .. she has also been waking a lot at night and i just recently had my DH start dealing with her and it has improved her sleep ..
i'm feeling a lot more calm about my blood pressure issues today - my home readings have been lower, not as low as i'd like but in the normal range.. i think i may have figured out what happened - the midwife i met with on tuesday (not my primary midwife) was sick! she had an obvious and horrible cold, but my midwife wasn't available (was with her mother who was having surgery) so she had to cover for her... I think my BP was up because i was so freaked out about being in a small room with someone with such a bad cold.. i've been avoiding going out in public to avoid getting sick and then i got blindsided by my sick midwife - anyway, so after 2 high readings at the appt i was getting really worried about my BP so of course the readings the rest of the day were high too .. today , after i realized what had probably happened it was a lot better.. i'm still going to take steps to keep it down and monitor and it but i feel a lot better about it..

I've actually had that same change in BMs. Gone from barely one to two a day all of a sudden. I was surprised. Seems to have happened when the baby dropped which is not entirely logical to me... but then nothing is in pregnancy ;)

Where are all of our babies??????
I can't believe it is just a few days from Feb and we have just one set. Come on babies. Lets see if the full moon on Sunday can make some magic happen! I am getting so anxious and excited! Can't wait to hear about these babies.
I know there are a couple of inductions scheduled soon. How are all you mamas doing?

Gah! I hope not me - I'm not ready yet!! Once we get our pool then maybe I will feel a bit better about it, but I'm really hoping to make it to close to my due date. I don't feel like she is coming any time soon at this point (37 weeks tomorrow).

Ive heard for the yeast infection to put a clove of garlic in your vagina at night and take it out in the morning. Maybe repeat. You can attach it with a string or just pop it in there, the garlic is a natural antibiotic and yeast hates it. I actually plan on doing this once I hit 40 weeks bc I had yeast last pregnancy and we ended up struggling with thrush which was an awful way to start off breastfeeding. Good luck and I hope you find a solution soon. xx

I am still waiting on my blood test results to come back :/ I had an ultrasound done to make sure there was no meconium in the waters and baby was okay. She looked great, but found out I have a gallstone. This past week has been a complete emotional roller coaster! I had moderate back cramps yesterday which I thought were going to lead to labor, it wouldve been great timing, but it didnt turn into anything after I took a bath. COME on baby!!!!
Quick recap of midwife appt yesterday:
GBS negative!

Due date 13th Feb, they would want me to come for NST if not in
labour by 16th, however they would be reluctant to talk inducing even if I were to go more than 1 week over because they don't have my early ultrasound report - blessing in disguise that my previous out of state care provider hasn't responded to the requests to send my medical records!
I had a really long day yesterday and round ligament and pelvic pain plagues me the entire evening, even a long hot bath barely gave me any relief. No surprise since babe's head is right above my pelvic bone according to my MW. Also explains my now much more regular BMs. Getting closer to the 'done' stage methinks... My mother flies in this weekend so LO can feel free to come anytime after that.

I think the acv is going to knock it out. I tried the garlic clove multiple times and the itching kept returning. Also did coconut oil with tea tree, olive oil with tea tree, a tiny bit of gentian violet in coconut oil and rinsed a few times with dilute peroxide.
I'm not reusing any of my bath towels or pants/skirts and putting vinegar in the rinse of every wash. So hopefully a few more days of acv rinsing and sitz baths will clear it up.
So sorry to hear about the HFH!! I hate those nasty things and hope you can get some relief soon. Mine have come and gone a few times this pregnancy and I bought some herbal suppositories from my mw which are waiting in the fridge for after the birth.
So glad to hear about the normal BP, yay!!

So I just found this link to acupressure points for inducing labour
I'm 38 weeks, comfortable, and plan to work until Thursday so I'm not quite ready to try anything like this yet but I'm curious to see if it helps anyone else out.
Whenever I check here I wonder the same thing... where are the babies?!! I think I'm in the first group of due dates and definitely feel ready. Although it would be nice to go into labor early next week at the earliest because DH has an extra gig this Saturday which will bring us in some cash so I don't want him to have to miss that :). After that, I might just start doing those pressure points. Thanks for the link, Teles. My MIL has booked her trip to come in for when I'm 41.5 weeks and I hope he's at least out by then!

Ugh sorry kellybeth! I have some painful constipation these past few weeks, but no HFH yet - I keep expecting them though.
