Meal for GTT?

Thread Starter

My midwife is allowing me to eat a meal with 50g of sugar instead of drinking the yucky sugar drink for my glucose tolerance test on Wednesday morning.  The problem is that I have no idea what 50 g of sugar looks like?  Anyone have any ideas of what a breakfast with 50g of sugar would be?

Thanks!

I am not sure about the actual quantity of sugar in the meal I did, but when I did this I had waffles with syrup and orange juice...basically, more sugar than I would ever normally eat at one time. I just checked the OJ we currently have, and there is 23 grams of sugar in just 8 oz of juice, so that plus pancakes or waffles with syrup is most definately over 50 grams.

I had pancakes with peaches and syrup. Then a glass of OJ. Then my MW drew my blood 2 hours later.
