My first labor was managed in the hospital, epidural, pitocin, so I'm not sure exactly how long it was, I don't even remember, (probably a standard 14 hours or so). But I only pushed for a few minutes.
Second labor was about 7 hours, but mostly mild and I ended up birthing in the car on the way to the birth center.
Third labor, I slept through most of it. I went to sleep around 10 pm with mild contractions, woke up around 2 am and she was born around 4:30 am. with two pushes she was out. it was too fast and I tore
Fourth labor, I went into labor around noon, was out shopping at the farmers market, went home around 4pm. Gave birth around 9:30pm. Funny story with this one, I was feeding all my kids and my midwifes kids and her foster kids dinner. there were 9 kids!!! after they went to bed things picked up. My midwife was in the bathtub during all this. LOL
This is my 5th. I already said in another post that on Sat. I had 14 hours of intense 2-4 minute apart contractions. I somehow willed them to stop so I could get some sleep, but now nothing. I've been having months of braxton hicks. I am now about 4.5 cm and pretty effaced. not sure how much. But I know several moms here who are on their 4,5,6th baby and they all pretty much say that it doesn't get easier after that many. I've heard the body takes a while to get back into it. I'm not sure if it's true but it seems to be lining up for me. I'm actually hoping a for a slower pushing and delivery stage. I wouldn't mind if it lasted for 20-30 minutes, rather then one or two pushes. I almost need to be upside down my body pushes out babies fast, too fast.
