Prepping for the 2013 Treasure Map! - Page 2

Sounds great, speedmum :-)

So in addition to decluttering, physically and spiritually, should I be thinking about what I want to manifest?  Or should I wait to start ruminating/journaling on that until the new moon? Thank you.

sorry, double post.

I never completely follow through with the Treasure Map, but this year is full of new and exciting things for me, so I'm going to go through with this in 2013! I need some good will.

Yay!  Revolting, I used pinterest last year, too and loved it!

It's also my third year and I adore this process.

Hi! Subbing to this.  I'm excited for TM this year.  I also don't have near as much decluttering to do on any level this year; which is nice.  I will start now doing some, though!  Here's a great little cleaning thing I learned to do last year (it was suggested by Flylady): I'll be cleaning the tops of all the door frames and window frames in my house.  Maybe everyone else already does this, but before I read the idea, I had NEVER cleaned those things before.

My current map has been on display prominently (to me) all year, but I didn't connect with it well at all until recently.  I also pulled out my map #1 from 2010, which I never felt compelled to destroy, and it is also on display (to me) now.  It's amazing how much that map did for me, but I  do feel it is still working.

I did the Treasure map for the first time last year. I didn't follow the ba gua pattern, and instead did my own design, which cut the treasure map in half with on big thing... Wanting to move. What is funny is below this dividing line all but one thing had positive movement. Above the dividing line I had very little positive movement (really only in the last couple of weeks) and even some backtracking in those areas. Oh, and needless to say we have no plans of moving anytime soon. This year I will be looking for a different layout for sure when it gets down to design time. But before that... Decluttering! And man do I have a lot of that to do. Glad to have the motivation!

Starting my de-cluttering today. i took three bags of clothes and shoes we no longer need to a swap and came home with just three items. Yay!. Tomorrow, I'm taking out two bags of books the used bookstore didn't want and donating them to a little free library.

I had some great movement with last year's treasure map on the career and family front. This year, I'm hoping for a little more movement in some areas that seem to have stalled.

I'm spending Saturday morning of the new Moon tree planting. I think that's a good way to honor the earth and put your energy literally into "renewal".

Best to all.

Hi Tracy,

I have a question about the first TM day. The moon will be void-of-course for a good chunk of that day (12:25pm- 11:22pm) and I've read that things begun during that time rarely come to fruition or turn out very differently than expected. Do you think it would be wise to avoid beginning the TM during the void-of-course and instead making sure to get started before that time? After that time, the moon will already be in Taurus, so will it be less effective to wait until after the void? Thanks!

mommamanjari,

I gotta say I have friends that follow voc moons religiously.  I'm not that person, honestly, it would be too much for me to do with my schedule and mommy hood and all the whatnot.

But having said that there are times when I do things and I think I am still perhaps influenced by the VOC.  Meaning I will start something and get stalled by one distraction after another and then later I realize it was a VOC moon.   In terms of when to start the treasuremapping, you have all 3.5 days of the new moon.  so if you want to wait until after VOC that would be fine. It is still new moon.    Perhaps maybe you will do something for you and which I think is wildly perfect for aries new moon---light a nice red votive candle.   (I keep my candles by my sink).  It feels so good to see it burning especially on Aries new moon.  Then actually begin the treasure mapping when it is more convenient for you in the 3.5 day cycle.   I don't always start right when it happens btw.

Hi MamaInTheDesert how's that beautiful family? Last year was my first year mapping, too. I am also rethinking my strategy this year. I am intuiting information from my existing map well, I see a lot of activity this year. My life has been packed with lessons in love this last cycle, they resonate strongly as I focus on my map.. I am hoping for some feedback about the use of pictures. Do you think text is just as open to mystical misinterpretation? I know what WON'T be on my map again.

Thoughts on a few questions, I am really geared to take this decluttering to a new level in my life!  Hopefully in every aspect possible.

Other than the obvious physical environment decluttering, is anyone engaging in mental social emotional decluttering ?

For example,I am curious to know if any of you will be decluttering your "friends" list on facebook, email in box, address book? etc.

Any other fun ideas and cannot miss areas to declutter other than techonology?

Will any of you be doing a body detox/cleanse?  When would be the best time to start a cleanse?

I am moving homes, so it is perfect that I am decluttering before I move to the new place, but I am overwhelmed looking at much I still have, and conitnue to donate/sell etc.  But I am really ready to declutter the mental-emotional aspect.

Any ideas/plans to share?

I do try to finish unfinished projects now... before the new treasure map is created.

I do de-clutter as much as possible.

I don't do an internal cleanse.. I have health issues that make it hard for me to fast or do without food. But I try a new sport/activity or exercise at this time of year and I often treat myself to a facial just before the treasure map is created.

While I don't like to lose or drop friends, I think it is always a good practice to "let go" of those folks who are not positive or cannot practice reciprocation in some way in your life. I don't wait around to do that... if it needs to be done, the sooner the better. Don't wait around for the TM stuff.

Family is actually doing good. Tracy was right. I'm seeing a lot more things starting to have movement as this cycle comes to a close. Not as much as I would like, but hey... I'll take it.

As far as your question about text able to be misinterpreted, I for sure believe that is possible... maybe even more so than pictures. Just think how often forum postings, emails and txts are misinterpreted. I remember reading something on one of the treasure map threads about being super positive with the text... as in don't put "no more bs at work!" put something like "healthy and rewarding communication." Not only do you remove the negative word of "no," but you also remove the negative emotion attached with the first statement. I would even go so far as to say don't put "lose weight" cause who wants to LOSE at anything.

I don't have any more ideas for you, but I think all of yours are great speedmum! I'm definitely going to be thinking more on this.

Tracy, last TM time, I decided not to do a map. I had cut out images that "sort of" spoke to me, but I never glued them down to make them permanent. Let me tell you, my life has been chaos - some good things - some not so good, but mostly a whole lot of indecision and confusion on my part.

I WILL be making a TM this time around. This will be my 5th year involved (and only my 4th year of actually making one since I threw last year to the wind).

And all that aggression you speak of - I can already tell it's going to be that kind of year for me. It will have to be.

I have started to think about my TM and what I might put on there this year. I know there is still time for last year's map to work, and many things did come to fruition, but I am still struggling with the biggest thing on my map - having a baby.

I've done three maps now. And each time, I have focused on "healthy pregnancy" and "healthy baby", and each time I have conceived, but I miscarry (which has been put down to having older eggs). I would love to know if I am missing something on my map? I always use positive words and phrases and the pictures focus on healthy pregnancies and babies. Perhaps I put too many pictures on there? Perhaps the pictures are wrong because the pregnant women are always young, and I am not?

I hope someone will have some ideassmile.gif. If I had to choose only one thing on my map - it would be a healthy baby.

gumblossom - If you look n the 2012 Treasure Map thread, I posted a similar question, and the general consensus was that one picture of a healthy pregnancy/baby is better than a whole bunch...otherwise, it could seem like you want a lot of pregnancies/babies.

The de-cluttering has already begun around here. I have bags of clothes and toys, etc for donation... I bought new file folder organizers and organized ALL of my paperwork that has been sitting in piles in my closet (yeah, I'm one of the most disorganized people!) and I just sold my couch/chair that was a sort of depressing color (mustard yellow) and I was NOT feeling it anymore, I felt it was draining me and making me feel stagnant. I've also cleared out all kitchen cabinets and am currently reorganizing EVERYTHING. I cleared out the crawlspace and bathroom closet. I'm planning to rent a steam cleaner for my carpets this week. I'm taking everything off the walls and completely starting over - SIMPLIFYING ... yesterday I bought new bright mint-colored bedsheets and pillows, new plates and mugs, and have started to clean up our diet too. I just started reading The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin and want to start my own happiness project this year.

I definitely know I don't want more of last year. I was depressed, unmotivated, lethargic, and not nearly as productive as I could have been...

GRATEFUL FOR A FRESH START!!!
