Sharing with others after seeing heartbeat?

I had an early miscarriage in November and got pregnant with this baby 2 weeks later.  I requested an early ultrasound for peace of mind and saw the heartbeat last friday at 8.5 weeks.  My appt with my midwife to hear the heartbeat via doppler is in 2 weeks.  I am debating sharing with certain people (we have told close family and friends) or if I just wait to share with the world another 2 more weeks, towards the end of first trimester....

Congrats again on seeing a heartbeat! It's such a relief after a loss. I've had many losses and we've told a handful of people after seeing the heartbeat this time. However, we'll wait until 13 weeks before telling at work and the rest of our circle. I hate "un-telling" people but I know a lot of people say the more people they tell the more support they'll have if they have a loss. Whatever you are comfortable with and gives you the most peace of mind should guide your decision :)

I agree with this! I've had a lot of losses like Carmen, and I've kind of modified who I tell each time based on my comfort level. This time, I felt comfortable telling my closest three friends at about 4 weeks. Then I told some people who are in my Mops group before my first ultrasound- basically, I knew it would affect me if I had another loss and I wanted them to know ahead of time if I needed to cancel plans with them. Slowly, I've told more people, but only as it comes up in daily life. I don't really feel the need to tell Facebook at almost 13 weeks, as it doesn't really impact most of them. Maybe later, though? I hope you'll get a good feeling for your comfort level as this pregnancy progresses. Pregnancy after a loss is hard.
