Giving up dairy

I have no choice but to give up dairy, my almost 4 week old is spitting up between 5-15 times a day, its just horrible. After his regular doctor telling me its normal and that all babies do it I talked to my midwife and she said dairy, wheat and soy are the most common problems. I don't do soy and rarely cheat with wheat so I figure it has to be the dairy. Only problem is I have no clue what to do without it. I eat at least a sick of butter a day because I use it in all the cooking I do. I don't really like coconut very much so I don't want to add that to my food, what are other options? Bacon grease? Thanks for any suggestions!

Bacon grease, lard, tallow, or palm shortening are my go to's. I love to fry with the palm.

You might want to consider coconut oil for baking, because it's hard to taste and it acts so much like butter.

Oh, I also use the palm shortening for frying and baking. I prefer it to coconut oil as it is more like shortening or lard and gives the end result a lot of body (I don't bake with grains, coconut oil worked fine with grains but not with grain free). The chocolate chip cookie recipe I adore (Eat Like a Dinosaur) uses it. I had never thought of it before that. I also tried the recipe with coconut oil, the cookies were flat. When I did it with palm, they were COOKIES! I couldn't believe it. I about dropped. I hadn't had a cookie like that in ages!
